We’ve come a long way from boiling chicory in a campfire pot. There’s a new high craft, full-service coffee bar in town that distills the finest cup of black gold this side of Cripple Creek. With beans roasted right here in the Springs by our friends at Hold Fast, we’re brewing up the perfect cup of coffee but that isn’t all we have to cure what ails you. We’re serving a full menu of tasty breakfast and lunch items, along with a selection of wine, beer, cocktails, and a range of potions and tinctures to elevate your mood, boost wellness and much more. All in the new lobby of the Mining Exchange Hotel.

Interesting concept; the hotel has a huge lobby, so they leased out part of it to a coffee shop. Lots of room, but the vibe is totally “hotel lobby” and not coffee shop. Sofas, coffee tables, etc. nice and clean, lots of room and large tables. A few tables if you’re one of those people who work on laptops. Not for those who like smaller, more intimate coffee shops.

My only negative is the coffee. I asked if they had a light roast, but the barista said they only have a medium roast, so I ordered a cappuccino, but it wasn’t very good. Very french roast taste, and bitter, like $tarbux. I hope they find better coffee, less dark roasted, at least for those of us who don’t like drinking charcoal.

I also didn’t like being served a hot coffee in a glass? Don’t they have coffee mugs? I put food at 3/5 stars, as the croissant was basic, the coffee bitter. Atmosphere 3/5 because of what I wrote above. When I was there it was a bit noisy, lots of people

Bathrooms are lobby bathrooms, a bit of a walk but large, clean and spacious. They have a small table with coffee things (sugar, napkins, water and cups).

I stayed at The Mining Exchange Hotel over the weekend and decided to grab a quick breakfast before I went out hiking.

The staff was very friendly and the interior of the hotel makes for a very pleasant dining experience.

I ordered the “Breakfast Sandwich” and it was very filling and delicious. The egg was fluffy and the bacon was crispy. What really caught me off guard was the kale, which sounded odd at first, but fit perfectly!

The space is beautiful and the staff is friendly. My only issue was my drink. I ordered a matcha and it was basically all milk (image attached). I asked the barista to add more matcha and even after that, it was still very milky. Felt like a waste of $8.

My sister and I enjoyed the pistachio ube oatmilk lattes. They were delicious! Also love the hotel lobby atmosphere, lots of seating! They also had a happy hour special you cannot beat!

We got the breakfast sandwich, and americano, and a cappuccino from the menu. The cappuccino didn’t have any foam at all, and almost looked like it wasn’t even steamed. You couldn’t taste the lavender or white chocolate in the drink either, but it did taste kind of sour and burnt. Maybe it’s not supposed to be a traditional cappuccino, but for $50 it was a disappointment.

Been wanting to try this place out for ages and now that I have I can confidently say this coffee spot is fantastic! The vibes in the lobby are perfect for sipping on a hot beverage and watching the world go by! And they even have a happy hour from 1-3 pm — I enjoyed the pistachio ube latte – highly recommend! The staff are also so kind and positive! If you’re looking for a place to meet up with a friend or just get some work on your laptop – check this place out!

A fantastic addition to the downtown food and beverage scene! I visited on their second day after opening; my two friends & I were really pleased with the prompt and friendly service as well as the delicious and interesting espresso drinks. The renovation of the lobby and the hotel look gorgeous as well. We didn’t try any food but the menu looked super yummy as well.

Such a nice place to grab brunch and coffee while doing some work or having a meeting. The drinks are the best, the food takes a bit longer and the menu changes (when they do Shakshuka its great), but worth stopping by. They also do fun events here and there (check out their social media page).

This place is so beautiful. I’ve never had a better matcha. The natural lighting and soft tones make the atmosphere. I tried a matcha that rilea had recommended, it was amazing. She was super sweet and helped me figure out what to order! I’ll be back for sure!

The latte was very artificial flavored, and I ultimately threw it away barely drunk. The cinnamon roll was okay, but had barely any flavor other than “sweet.”
The location is nice and the atmosphere is good, but depending on the time, it doesn’t feel like you can pitch up like a regular coffee shop would allow.
Overall, it was ok – I won’t be going back though.
