Charlie’s has been open since 1978 starting off with only a few burger items on the menu. The menu has grown over the years, especially when customers started requesting his mothers Hispanic recipes. Her famous Chile Verde recipe is unique because its a red based Chile Verde. Chile Verde in Spanish means green chile, which her recipe has green chile’s in it. Give it a try before you question it. Charlie Gonzales is a long time local of Los Alamos often called the unofficial Mayor of Los Alamos. His parents moved to our small town in in 1955, opening up the Meat Locker which is known as The Los Alamos Market today. Some of the old Hangers and Trollies are still hanging in the store. Charlie’s Restaurant is a local landmark.

Been here a handful of times I never had any issues personally. But there was a few times one of the staff (older lady) was loudly expressing her frustration towards another employee in person, over the phone and has rudely been talking to people over the phone. The food is good, the prices are pretty good for the size and portion of the food served.
The only problem is, having us customers sit and dine and having there hear all the commotion out loud. Its unnecessary, unprofessional, disturbing and bothersome.
Any BS one has to deal with, take it where we won’t feel comfortable dining.

Excellent in every aspect. Our burger’s were very tasty. Tina provided excellent and friendly service from when we arrived until we were leaving. Sam, our labradoodle, also enjoyed his visit and others seem to enjoy him. He even got a nice treat. First time in several years but we plan to now return much more often.

This place it’s a standard when it comes to the classic American burger with bacon that is thick and delicious. The burger is massive, and the fries are plentiful enough to share. I would recommend this place to everyone driving by.

Sat out on the patio. Lots of friendly folks. Waitress was perfect, friendly and efficient. She made several recommendations and I decided to try the Chili Verde. I was surprised when my plate arrived and I saw all the red sauce… thought I had mistakenly been served Chili Colorado. When I asked the waitress about it I was told that it was the owners special family recipe…didn’t taste like any Chili Verde I have ever had and to be blunt it was terrible! BUT, that was just 1 item off the menu and everything else was great! Sorry, I really wanted to like it.

The hamburger is too delicious! it only takes a little over 15 minutes to get your food ready! We will definitely come back, it has become our favorite place, the staff is very friendly. Perhaps they could improve their cleaning inside because there were many cobwebs at the entrance to the bathrooms, everything else was incredible!

My golf buddies and I stop here every week, prices are very affordable, if you are wanting breakfast get your order in before 11AM because they quit serving breakfast at that time. Biscuits and gravy I’m told are great.

Run silent run deep – Dive, Dive, Dive. Yes it’s primative but it’s the food, OMG it’s the food. Service is great but it’s the food! I spent 22 years living in Philly and know meat sandwhich’s and this place holds it’s own with anything in Philly. My Tri-tip was perfect, fantastic. Just a wonderful experience.

Ahhhhh…the unpretentious shall inherent the earth…. You’ll find this kind of diner/restaurant in the Movies….casual, simple, not full of itself. You’ll get efficient, Friendly service at Charlie’s, and you’re there for the food, right? Count on large portions, good variety and fresh, tasty dishes. There’s a small inside setting, or enjoy the Vineyard views from the spacious outdoor patio. It’s the Restaurant at the End of the Known World… Next stop…The Great Outdoors! It’s a real hidden gem!
