I’m so glad our travels led us here! This retro restaurant was full of friendly service and delicious old school food.
We didn’t have time to spring for desserts and homemade fries really would’ve made this a 5 star place.
The chili dog and chili cheese fries were good. The Stromboli was good but was a bit overcooked on this occasion.
We look forward to dining here again to continue trying more of their menu!

A little hometown hidden gem. This place has always had some of the best food in Mt.Sterling. They are well known in this area well liked. The place is always packed with people enjoying the great food and shakes. They have a great variety of ice creams, banana split, sundaes, etc. Can’t wait to go again. The food is great and the staff is very friendly and professional. The new remodel done to the building has really improved the place. Great job and keep up the good work. Can’t wait to go back.

I wasn’t impressed at all this go a round the food was awful my husband didn’t even finish his chili dog and the chicken strips looked like the oil needed to be emptied and fresh new oil the coleslaw was discusting hot never in my life have I ever had hot coleslaw it looked as if it had been sitting out. Sad too because when I first moved down here I would go and get hamburger and fries and ice cream it was delicious hadn’t ate here in awhile but I don’t think I’ll be back.

I’m thoroughly impressed. I went in for lunch and I decided to try the house specialty- The Berryman. The clerk tried to dissuade me from ordering it because it was so large and he wasn’t sure if I would be able to eat the whole thing.
Checking my insecurity, I inquired as to the components of this burger and his response was that it was two large patties on Texas Toast with the chili they have been making since they first opened in 1951, then they add cole slaw. (Which is a tradition in this part of Kentucky- lots of small town restaurants here add slaw to their burgers!) I was still feeling bold enough to order the burger and added a medium sized fries and large root beer and thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing with minimal slop from the wet toppings. It was not too busy when I was there, but they are rebuilding the sidewalk and it looks like it’s not open, but the drive thru was packed.

Very disappointed with my first experience. From the get go I must add I specifically went because I wanted icecream. The cashier Megan was assisting me. I asked if there buffalo chicken sandwich was a whole piece or shredded. She proceeds to tell me “uhhhhh it’s a patty” like in an idiot. I asked about the smiley fries. Proceeded to treat me like I’m an idiot. I didn’t even want to ask where the icecream menu was because of how rude she was being( the whole reason I went here”. I then watch my food sit on the table for close to five minutes before she realized my food was sitting there because I stood up walked to the counter and looked at her while she really just looked confused as to what she should be doing. I might give this place another chance but if she’s at the register I’m not going back. Hopefully they realize she is not a good representation of the establishment.

Who doesn’t Love a little bit of tradition. That’s just what Berryman’s has been for me since I was a little boy. Nothing beats a chili dog with a large peanut butter shake to wash it down. Better yet, don’t forget to try and order of chili cheese fries and a large cherry pineapple milkshake. It’s one of my favorites. Also don’t forget to stay refreshed with an Old Fashion Cherry Coke on a hot summer day.

Berryman’s has been a staple for us for so many years. It was a special treat when I was a child and just as special now as an adult. Whenever I’m in Mt Sterling I always try to stop by for some chili buns, chili dogs, bag of Grippos and an Ale-8. I’m sure other items are great but the chili is so good it’s all I ever order!

Berryman’s is a popular dairy bar/roadside diner that has been in business since 1951! Vintage decor makes for a fun atmosphere. They serve burgers, ice cream, milkshakes, cold Ale-8, etc… along with the best hotdogs in town!! I highly recommend giving them a try.

Boy has this place went downhill. Chilli dog was a mushy mess, the chili was watery and sweet to the point the dog came through the bottom of the bun and the hotdog taste like it was boiled and left in water till it was very soft and had no flavor. My wife says i would eat stuff that a dog wouldnt eat and i threw 1 of 2 chili dogs away. Wife got a double cheeseburger that she couldnt eat cause it was disgusting. Ive ate premade patties out of a box and am ok with them but these were the cheapest form of premade patty ive ever tasted. I guess the only thing that was ok was the fries but $25 for 2 chili dogs a double cheeseburger, 2 fries a coke and a niagra bottle water was a complete ripoff that over half ended up in the trash. Service with a smile wont happen here, the server seemed miserable to be there. All in all i wouldnt go eat at Berrymans again even if it were for free.

Man they are good, the service has improved so much that I’m updating my review to 5 stars! I love their chili and grilled cheese, soup beans and cornbread, fried potatoes, chili dogs, cod nuggets, chicken tenders and shrimp baskets, shakes and of course Ale 8. Delicious and good things come to those who wait, everything is made to order fresh so it takes a little longer 10/10 recommend!
