We live here nearby this place for 14 years, until now me and my wife decided to give a try because we have never had sushi before. Wow for someone trying sushi for the first time. The food was excellent and the owner took her time showing us the menu and explaining what we may like. Excellent good and service you need to try it.

Highly recommend visiting if you’ve never been here. It was our first time visiting and we dined in to eat. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and they made us feel very welcome. I got the teriyaki chicken bento box, then the tuna with avocado and cucumber over sushi rice to go. Portions are generous for the price, in my opinion. We plan to become regulars to Moon sushi.

The quality of the food is consistently amazing, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service always makes you feel taken care of. A special shout-out to Tanya — she is truly wonderful, friendly, attentive, and makes every visit extra enjoyable.
I also really appreciate that they offer gluten-free sushi options, which is such a big plus for people with allergies or celiac disease. It’s not always easy to find places that are both delicious and accommodating, and Moon Sushi does a fantastic job at both. Highly recommend!

Like any resident of the San Fernando Valley, I’ve eaten my body weight in nigiri many times over, but I’ve never had it better than how it’s done at Moon Sushi. They source only the best and freshest fish, craft it delicately and with skill, and place it lovingly upon your plate.

Staff friendly, Tanya recommended certain items and everything was delightful. We ordered many items to try the menu, we loved the salmon and yellowfin sushi, miso soup, Gyoza, edamame, crispy rice tuna and the Jam roll, the ice cream bread boat and shrimp tempura!

Where do I start? The service was terrible. The red-haired fellow who apparently owns the place is extremely rude. I walked in and he practically shouted at me what did I want. No welcome or nice to see you, just very gruff. I sat down and ordered shrimp tempura and shishito peppers and waited at least 10 minutes before asking the owner what was the holdup. in a really rude way that they got backed up and it would be out soon. He didn’t go to check to see where the food was or in a nice way say anything helpful.
The food was absolutely nothing. The shishito peppers were small and they were very few of them topped by what was supposed to be crispy onions which were soggy. The shrimp tempura was poor, the sauce had little flavor the shrimp were small and the batter was soggy as well. The Japanese scallop was tasty but I’ve had much larger Japanese scallops at other restaurants.
The atmosphere is nothing much at all with the bathroom being the nicest ambience of all.
I guess it’s called Moon sushi because it has the same atmosphere as the moon – none.

Love this little place! People are super nice and everything comes out fast. My girlfriends and I go here after work and they always remember us. Can be a bit on the pricey side but it’s all really good! Am surprised this place isn’t more packed!! Would recommend for a bute little date night in the valley!
