In 1983, Kim and Bill opened the first DaNang Restaurant on San Pablo Avenue (at Solano) in Albany. Yvan and Bryan basically grew up working there. After selling the business, we relocated to Antioch in 2008, a couple months before the economic meltdown. Grandson Marcell joined us a couple years ago leading to our 3rd generation operating.
Family-owned mainstay offering pho, noodle dishes & other classic Vietnamese fare in laid-back digs.

This is THE spot for pho in Antioch. We usually get take out pho and it is always packaged neatly with all the fixings. Salad rolls with pork and shrimp w/peanut sauce are so fresh. Grilled chicken Bahn mi is also very good. They do dine in and great take out. Ordering online for take out will get you a discount. Orders are always correct and delish.

A friend recommended this place. I saw that they have bun rieu(crab noodle soup) and bo kho(beef stew), both childhood favorite of mine. I end up getting Bo kho, crispy chicken and durian smoothie.
Bo kho tasted good. Lots of tender meat and carrots were soft. Large baguette.
Durian smoothie was good. Tasted as expected. Didn’t come with boba even though I asked for it. But good smoothie nonetheless.
I wasn’t a fan of their crispy wings. Had a side of a lemon pepper dipping sauce. Wings were average.
Overall, I would want to try their bun rieu so I’ll be back.

1. food: i have been here twice, each time for a different dish. first dish was pho, second dish was a pork chop rice plate. food was phenomenal each time.
2. service: waiters and staff are so kind and welcoming. i had unknowingly left my wallet, and one of the employees came after me to return it!
3. the atmosphere is top tier. lots of seating, though i’ve only sat booth thus far. whoever is on aux needs a raise!

Great food, I got the Rare Beef Pho. I’ve never had Pho and now it’s on my favorite restaurant List, i definitely recommend stopping by to try. I’m glad I had such a great experience for my first time trying. This place is very clean and well kept and the staff is super nice. 10/10

This spot is quite busy but offers plenty of seating, making it easy to find a comfortable spot to enjoy your meal. The menu has many options, so there’s something for everyone. I tried the Bun Bo Hue soup, which was nice and satisfying . The Thai tea was also nice —though I personally prefer mine a bit sweeter, it was still enjoyable. Overall, a good experience!

Amazing Vietnamese food! The papaya salad with shrimp was fresh, tangy, and loaded with herbs and peanuts. Bún Bò Huế had a rich, spicy broth with generous beef and toppings. Mì Quảng was fragrant, colorful, and full of flavor. Generous portions, friendly service — we’ll be back!

Four of us last Sunday, Feb 8, 2026. Daughter and husband ordered soup. They enjoyed it.
My Mother had rice and three meats. Meat were cut in large pieces, difficult to even cut apart. My dish was a dry noodle dish, pretty good except the sliced chicken; overcooked; dried out and not edible. Used their scissor to cut but still not pleasant. Place these too large of slices into my husband’s soup to soften. Still hard and chewy.
Service was fine but my husband asked for hot water for me, but they forgot. Brought us ice water.
Question: Would we go again. Definitely not to eat the dishes Mother and I had that day. Soup, okay.

Would not recommend, especially for the price. I ordered from them before and they put two pieces of tofu in my dish. I tried to give it a second chance and ordered again, specifically asking them to put a normal amount of tofu. They gave me 3 pieces, and barely any vegetables. The dish is cheaply made by stocking up on the carbs (noodles or rice) and providing little of the substance/nutrients. The food is not good enough either for this to be the case. These were the most dry, plain noodles I’ve ever had.
There are so many other restaurants with much better options, similarly priced. Again, I just really wouldn’t recommend this place, especially for vegan/vegetarian where it’s difficult enough to get a good source of protein.

I travel for a living and get to try phò from all over the country. The search for the best bowl of chicken phò is over. Absolutely fantastic phò, friendly staff and surprisingly inexpensive. I look forward to coming back next time I’m in the area.

Went in to have lunch and I ordered the medium beef pho. Tasty broth, plenty of noodles, and a fair amount of fresh tasting meat. Prices seemed to be on point, but things are kind of high no matter where you go these days. I really enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee that they gave me. The service was prompt friendly and was an excellent stop for lunch.
