Moved to Nola 5 years ago from Lafayette. I’ve scouted many many restaurants in nola for good Louisiana cuisine. When I tell you how MAD I was that I haven’t found a place like this in Nola! HUMPHH. I recently gave Lafayette another chance to prove its culinary art, and I was not disappointed. I left the restaurant needing an extra waist size. The food was amazing. I got smothered pork with cabbage and Mac. Don’t knock it till you try it! Wish there wasn’t a hookah in the restaurant when i came. I was under the impression that the place wasn’t a bar or a lounge, but hey, my face was looking straight down into the next bite. Thank y’all for the experience and keep serving heaven on a plate.

I discovered this amazing restaurant through a food critic I follow. Mr. Chimes. I was passing through on a business trip. The service is top notch! My food was amazing! Fresh, seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly, received it hot. I will definitely recommend Telly’s and I will definitely be back!!
I ordered turkey wing, smothered okra, sweet peas, and corn.

Cabbage was Great! I love mine sweet just like that. Just wish meat wasn’t so tough. Also Seafood Gumbo was very salty. I loved that you get you money’s worth. Really Appreciate that.

I found this spot on TikTok while looking for a Black owned restaurant open on a Sunday as we were traveling through from Texas and I’m so glad we stopped! This was honestly some of the best food places I’ve had in a while taste wise. We usually go to Soul Haus, and they are really good too, but this was the real deal. Everything was seasoned perfectly and had just the right kick, exactly how I like it with spice. I’m usually not a big fan of BBQ, but when it’s cooked like this, I can’t resist. We’ll definitely be back!

Food was delicious but my stomach can not tolerate the spice in the etouffe. Really could not enjoy it like I wanted to. The fried fish was on point. A little pricey for the seafood plate. I didn’t expect to pay $21(can’t argue the price due to inflation). Then get looked at crazy for when I had to do a transfer to pay through cashapp/zelle because the machine was down.

When I decide to choose a place to eat, shop, or in general spend my money I always look at the reviews for the business I plan on visiting… The reviews for this establishment are very alarming… 03/12/23, we decided on Sunday barbecue for dinner, and we decided to take pardon at Telly’s in Lafayette on Moss St, even though the reviews were very low, we chose it anyway to see if they were honest reviews for a restaurant… Parking, was amazing, but when I entered the building Telly’s, I exhale with appreciation for the decor (gorgeous)… My hostess/server was Hailee, she was polite and professional; very informative about the menu… Now a drum roll, the food was to die for, delicious and seasoned to perfection… I had the turkey wing with potato salad and homemade mac & cheese… The wing, tinder and seasoned to the bone, potato salad just like my grandmother made amazing and the mac & cheese, creamy and moist (not hard and stiff)… I hope these pictures do it justice, thank me later… p.s the price is correct for the meal $$…

I stopped by today and had the smothered okra, mac & cheese, turkey wing, and potato salad. The turkey wing and potato salad were both really good, well-seasoned and flavorful. The mac & cheese was very cheesy and rich maybe a bit too heavy for me, but some folks might enjoy it that way.
The smothered okra had a VERY strong tangy, vinegar-like taste and was extremely spicy. If that flavor came from vinegar, I’d really recommend cutting back a bit, it completely took over the dish way too much.
I also waited about 20–25 minutes for my plate, which was surprising for a plate lunch spot. Hopefully just a rare delay.
Lastly, I was a little shocked that a bottle of water was almost $3. I understand prices have gone up, but that’s nearly the cost of a whole case of water on sale. That felt excessive.
Overall, the food has slight potential, but there’s definitely room for improvement on a few things. The price of the plate was $23.
