What truly makes Niwa stand out is their impeccable use of tuna belly—it’s rich, buttery, and melts on your tongue like a dream. The Mazara prawns are another personal obsession: sweet, delicate, and expertly handled to let their natural flavor shine.
The Uramaki Soft Roll is comfort wrapped in creativity, while the Hamachi Roll balances depth and freshness with every bite. The rice is consistently flawless, the fish pristine, and the presentation? Elegant without being fussy.
♂️ The ambiance at Niwa is calm and sophisticated, without veering into anything too formal. It’s a place you want to linger, whether it’s a solo sushi pilgrimage or a quiet dinner with good company.
If you’re in Como and love sushi—skip the guesswork and just book a table at Niwa. You’ll thank yourself later.
The cuisine is very diverse and you can definitely choose anything you want The food is well-prepared and made with high-quality ingredients.
PS: I find it unnecessarily expensive
Sashimi is just not fresh. I love sashimi and it’s usually how I judge the place. If a place doesn’t have fresh sashimi, then it’s just done, for me. I go to sushi place for a good sashimi and this place is just not it. The shrimp sashimi is soft and not fresh when u eat it, if you really know what’s a quality, fresh shrimp tastes like.
The unagi is also soft and mushy. They do give a big portion but the quality is not having it. It doesn’t taste fresh at all.
It would be better to order sushi with cooked items. But how they are different with the eat-all-you-can places? The price. Because it’s expensive and doesn’t match the quality.
Service is good, staff are attentive. But that’s all.
BUT: if you are a high class restaurant:
1. They don’t have a menu, all through OR code, which hate. If you go to an expensive restaurant, you expect to have high service and at least a menu available. I don’t want to use my phone. I want to chill and have a nice time.
Waiters – if you do not give a menu to people, at least they should know what wines they have, what type, what year etc.
conclusion- food is good, service not so good. The last time I went there.
