Went to this restaurant while in NY the other week. I didn’t particularly care of the food however my friends enjoyed it Thought the split pea soup was excellent.

Before I begin, I love this place and it is a solid four stars. But, the stars are my rating and this is my complaint box, so if you are wondering why I gave it four stars and then complained so much, it is just because this is the complaining box. So without further adu, here is my review. I have visited this place on a number of occasions, and it still surprises me. I have received service both good and bad (good more than bad) and have had both larger and smaller portions in a fluctuating order. I love the food served here, but unfortunately the portions are not what they used to be. The turkey (for example) used to take up the whole plate and now it is half and half with the mashed potatoes. Even the good deal of a kids meal has slowly become just a normally priced meal. On the other hand their jello is delicious, the service is quick and above average, and I love the atmosphere of this deli. I really wish that the portions were what they used to be. Otherwise again it is a very clean restaurant and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a traditional deli style meal. See for yourself!

Ben’s kosher restaurant is one of the best if not the best spot in the area. The steak was juicy and flavorful. The fries were perfectly seasoned and mouth-watering. And there is free coleslaw and pickles that come with each table. The waiters are so nice, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Definitely come to this place.

Best of the best….full stop. Always well worth the premium pricing for the outstanding quality of their food. If you know what to order, you literally can’t go wrong.

Shout out to Luis, the kitchen/counter manager, for consistently helpful, thoroughly professional, and friendly service. Hope is also wonderful, who runs a tight ship at the front.

Big thumbs up to all the hardworking and friendly staff that makes this restaurant the cultural and culinary kosher landmark that it is.

We had our Thanksgiving at the Woodbury Ben’s. Our table was in the corner next to the windows, out of the traffic, and our server, Marjorie, was a dynamo, on top of our needs and making sure everything was just right. I had the 1/2 Pastrami sandwich and matzo ball soup while everyone else had the turkey plate. Their pastrami is the best: tasty, trimmed and with never any gristle. The giant matzo ball was light and fluffy and the broth was full of chicken flavor, not watery. I’m sorry but I have no complaints about this place; everything was fantastic.

Tonight, Saturday November 1st 2025 my family enjoyed another delicious meal at Ben’s. Our server Selvin was fantastic as always. Everything was on point and excellent. The atmosphere is great, the food delicious and very reasonable prices. You can’t beat the double dip is the best, 1/2 sandwich and delicious soup. We had the awesome matzo ball soup, 1/2 sandwich of Turkey and roast beef, and pastrami on rye with a square knish. Had to top it off with Dr brown black cherry sodas. Hit the spot tonight. Excellent food and service. Thanks to all for a delicious dinner.

I placed a large order for take out. The quality of the food was very good. However most sandwiches cost more than $17 and were rather small. In the past a half of sandwich was enough. But was still hungry after eating a full sandwich. Not sure if it’s worth the money

We went with a group of 8 and they seated us right away. The slaw and pickles are always good. Our server was very helpful and great sense of humor.
Everyone ordered something different and it all came out together and on point flavor. Pastrami, chopped liver, you name it, all good.

First time coming here and the service and food was outstanding! I wish I can give more stars. Found a deal on the menu with a choice of soup and half a sandwich. Highly recommend the pastrami!

While the food was delicious, portions have decreased significantly. Also, I asked and paid for extra lean and didn’t get anything close.
I was very surprised to hear a worker yell out over the counter, “no food until you pay”, as if I wouldn’t pay, but was just about to add something to my order. I wasn’t aware I needed to show the person behind the counter (who couldn’t speak English well), that my order was paid for. I had no intention of leaving without paying.
