Established in 1742, Wiltons, located in Jermyn Street in the heart of London’s St James’s, is one of London’s oldest restaurants and is steeped in elegance and tradition. The restaurant has previously held six royal warrants between 1838 and 1938, including one granted by Queen Victoria in 1868 for supplying the monarch with oysters. Wiltons has gained an enviable reputation for serving delicious dishes inspired by traditional British cuisine and is one of the few remaining restaurants in the UK that uses a carving trolley for daily lunch and Saturday dinner service. The restaurant is a bastion of great British food, and is renowned for its seafood, game and of course, oysters.

Bastion of Britishness serving fine dining classics including game and seafood, plus oyster bar.

There are restaurants that follow trends.
And then there are those that outlive them.

In the heart of Central London, Wiltons remains a quiet statement of timeless elegance. Crisp white tablecloths, polished silver, oysters served with effortless precision — everything here speaks in a language of restraint and refinement.

Service is intuitive.
Conversations are unhurried.
Wine unfolds at its own pace.

This is not simply dinner.
It is tradition. It is discretion. It is London at its most distinguished.

For those who understand that true luxury never needs to raise its voice.

Had a lovely lunch at Wiltons– we shared mixed oysters to start, then a soufflé and beef tartare, followed by Dover sole and halibut. Finished with delicious desserts and coffee. Great service and a really special spot – highly recommend!

Wonderful ambiance and attentive service. Oyster selection was excellent, and enjoyed the lobster and Dover sole paired with Wiltons Chablis. Reservation’s are definitely required as the restaurant was very busy after 6:30. No planning our next visit and different menu options. Very enjoyable dinner.

This is the second time I’ve chosen Wilton’s Seafood Restaurant for my wife’s birthday. The food was excellent—large, fresh oysters, one of the best Wellington beef dishes I’ve ever had, and an unforgettable fish pie. The service and atmosphere perfectly complement this historic restaurant, started year 1742, which has been around for over 280 years. Thank you for such a lovely birthday dinner at Wilton’s!

Flawless. Everything done to perfection. I had the summer classic menu, and this restaurant was easily one of the very best seafood restaurants in London. Traditional in a very surprising way. Everything looked simple and elegant, but I could tell the effort and skills required in preparing all the dishes were impressive. My favourite was Dover Sole Meuniere. Another thing worth mentioning was the service could be quite slow at some point during the peak hours. I tended to overlook the time required to prepare perfect food if the culinary aspect was 100%, but it might be something people should understand and manage their expectations to enjoy the experience fully.

Absolutely incredible.
My wife and I were lucky enough to be taken here by my parents for my wife’s 40th.
I had the Oak Smoked Salmon to start and the Venison as a main. Both dishes were so good that the taste has literally haunted me since. I cannot express how amazing it was.
The service was great, but we did have to ask for the wine and champagne to be poured on a couple of occasions as our glasses had run empty.
Other than that, absolutely fantastic. I could eat there every day.
A lovely old school/old money feel to the place.

One of the most classic historic British seafood spots (you can probably guess the other one).

Specialties are house smoked salmon (ask for the off menu trout), raw bar and Stilton souffle, dover sole. On Fridays the trolley specialty is a salmon pie that kind of looks like beef Wellington.

Even the spinach is cooked in seafood stock!

Stunning as ever. The service and food were excellent in equal measure. We attended one of their Oyster Masterclass evenings and can highly recommend the experience. Educational and entertaining, and a dozen oysters of different types and styles to boot.

Honestly just wow, the whole experience was truly incredible. From start to finish, somehow even got lost on the way to the restaurant but the team held our table and greeted us with a smile. The service

An incredible place. Try the bullshot! Beef tartare on point. Seafood is phenomenal. I’ve been 2 times in the last few weeks and want to live here!!! The trolley each day is so special! The salmon was particularly incredible. I’m going to keep coming back until I’ve tried everything on the menu!
