It was our first time trying Filipino food. It gets super packed on weekends, so I would recommend doing reservations.

We got the green beans, shrimp rolls, garlic prawns, pork leg, adobo chicken, and most of the ube desserts. We enjoyed the green beans and adobo chicken. The flavors were unique on both dishes. The other dishes were fine, but nothing really stood out.

The ube charros were amazing, definitely get those.

The service was ok, we had to keep asking for everything: silverware, plates, napkins, water.

Went here for lunch with on a Saturday with a friend. It is highly recommended to make a reservation before going as when we walked in, there was a queue of people before us with a 45 minute wait time. The wait however was worth it as quality of food was excellent. They offered classic Filipino dishes like Laing and Dinuguan while also some interesting spins like Pork Sisig tacos. Service was good and I have to give them props with how they were able to work through the rush. Overall, an excellent addition to the culinary scene on Buford Highway.

A Heartwarming Filipino Dining Experience at Kamayan Atlanta

Kamayan Atlanta is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience that truly touches the heart.

Tita Mia has been absolutely amazing and incredibly hospitable, making sure every guest feels welcomed, comfortable, and well taken care of from the moment you walk in. Her warmth alone already sets the tone for a memorable visit.

We ordered several dishes, and each one deserves special recognition—especially for those who may not be familiar with Filipino cuisine:

• Crispy Pata (Superb!) – This is a deep-fried pork leg that’s crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It’s rich, savory, and usually dipped in a tangy soy-vinegar sauce. Perfect for sharing and absolutely indulgent.

• Dinuguan with Gata (Must-Try!) – This is a traditional Filipino stew made with pork simmered in a savory, tangy sauce traditionally made with pork blood, enhanced here with coconut milk (gata), which makes it extra creamy and comforting. If you enjoy bold, soulful flavors similar to hearty stews, this dish is a must. Don’t let the ingredients scare you—it’s incredibly flavorful and comforting.

• Crispy Palabok – Palabok is a Filipino noodle dish made with rice noodles and a savory garlic-shrimp sauce, topped with shrimp, egg, and chives. This version had a crispy twist. While I personally prefer the classic palabok, this was still enjoyable and well-prepared.

• Shrimp Lumpia – Filipino spring rolls filled with shrimp, fried to a golden crisp. Light, crunchy, and delicious, especially dipped in sweet chili sauce.

The atmosphere deserves special mention—it was beautifully Christmas-themed and instantly made me feel like I was back home in the Philippines on Christmas Eve. As someone who is far away from home, that feeling meant everything. The warmth, the décor, the food, and the hospitality all came together to create an emotional and memorable experience that truly touched my heart.

Lastly, a huge thank you to Tita Mia and the amazing waitress who was attentive, kind, and genuinely caring—something that’s sadly rare these days. The service was thoughtful and never lackluster, making the experience even more special.

If you’re looking to explore authentic Filipino food or simply want a place that feels like home, Kamayan Atlanta is a gem. Highly recommended! ❤️

Had been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got to for a girls’ dinner! Our service was great and most of the food was enjoyed. The restaurant was pretty cramped and warm, but it wasn’t a big deal.

– Wok Fried Green Beans: 5/5 (crispy and flavorful)
– Pork Lumpia: 5/5 (yum)
– Chickarrones: 4/5 (tasty snack, though some were burnt)
– Sizzling Sisig: 4.5/5 (great flavor, just greasy)
– Crispy Palabok: 3/5 (didn’t feel like enough sauce was provided and expected more flavor in the sauce)

First time having Filipino food, and I was not disappointed! I would definitely recommend eating family style here, as the dishes are heavy on the meat and are might feel heavy after a bit. So it definitely helps to order a lighter dish to balance things out. The chicken adobo was super flavorful, and the pork chicarrón was as well. The curry was much more mild and somewhat bland, but went well with the heavier meat dishes. The pork lumpia were just ok.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was great however! Definitely reserve or come a bit before dinner time. We went at 4:30 and it was already packed.

Food was excellently prepared! Everything we ordered was delicious. Our waiter recommended a couple items and we really enjoyed the shrimps he recommended on our 2nd round of ordering.

Small issue was I ordered a halo-halo to go for my daughter. While she was drinking it she found a toothpick with a little flag in the drink. Luckily she didn’t suck it up with the straw. Also we tossed it at that point bc the ink from the flag (printed paper) was running into the drink. Took a star off bc that was pretty dangerous.

Super busy place and worth the hype at a great price point!
We ordered chicken skewer, beef karekare, and shrimp lumpia are all very good. The fish was ok.

Plenty of parking. Nice ambience.
They do get quite busy on a friday night and we were suggested to leave bc of upcoming reservation after seated for 1hr30min so may not be ideal for ppl who needs more time.

The food was delicious and service was fast even though they were super busy for a Friday evening. We will come again. The Bistek Baryo is almost like a stew. We liked the veggie roll more than the pork roll. The green bean appetizer was spicier than expected. The chicken skewers were so yummy. The Ginataang Talong was a bit spicy and very coconut-y, but delicious.

They’re always packed on the weekend. Making a reservation is recommended, had to wait 20 minutes before got seated. The wait was worth it tho. The food came quick and taste so gooodddd It was crowded but not in a way where you can’t hear each other when talking. Decoration was culturally inspired.

Taste Michelin Recommended Philippine Restaurant. Few years ago when I first time ate it in friend’s house catering by Kamayan, it had presented the fresh and complex dishes. Now it’s good opportunity to taste it again in the restaurant. Everything is good as usual.
