This place is amazing! The salt bread (salt and butter roll) is maybe the best I’ve ever had — impossibly pillowy and chewy and buttery. The cookie butter version was good too, but I preferred the original without the sweet note. Perfection!
We also got the curry bread, which was also very soft with crisp from the breadcrumbs. I haven’t had a non deep fried version of karepan before so this was a welcome surprise!
The matcha sunrise had a tasty matcha cookie crust, but the bread wasn’t my favorite. The hojicha was earthy and good.
Komugi has the best bread of any Asian bakery I’ve tried in the area. I definitely preferred Komugi over Japnonaise. Everything was fresh and had wonderful texture and flavor. I’ll definitely be back for the salt bread and to try other items!

I stopped by Komugi and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and warm service as soon as you enter. All the employees were extremely gracious and kind. This was definitely the highlight of the visit.
I tried the cookie salt and butter roll and the matcha donut. Both were unique, fresh, and tasty. The cookie salt and butter roll had an excellent texture and flavor. I recommend trying it. The matcha donut was not too sweet and airy.
FYI there is no seating inside.

Both the curry pan and Kyoto hot coffee were delicious! I didn’t know what to order or expect but I was pleasantly surprised by how savory, buttery, and flavorful their curry bread turned out! It’s a great savory breakfast item with the perfect amount of salty-sweet and pinch of spice. The coffee has great flavor profile—it’s heartwarming with notes of nuts/cherry/chocolate. Will definitely be coming back! The staff were also so lovely!

The very cheerful & sunny staff at Komugi bake clouds into bread format. We came 3 days in a row during their grand opening — it is that good. So far, we’ve tried:
* Emoji bun — we got a warm one and the dark chocolate + custard filling was amazing! So rare to find a bun with 2 fillings in 1 bun!
* French toast
* Matcha sunrise
* Everything salt & butter roll
* Ham & cheese panini — the cheese oozes out & becomes crunchy & is soo good
* Cinnamon roll — less sweet/sticky than western style
* Edamame & cheese oyaki — wow I had no idea what to expect from this, but the chewy fluffy texture and savory flavor were fantastic
The texture of all of these are so pillowy and fluffy and the sweetness level is perfect. We liked them all, and our favorites were the oyaki, ham & cheese panini, emoji bun (esp. when warm), and french toast! Can’t wait to try the rest of the breads! Komugi is such an awesome addition to the neighborhood!

Wow. I’ve been to a lot of bakeries, not just in Boston, but also Korea and Japan and Komugi’s baked goods are probably one of the best that I’ve had in a while! The French toast is so fluffy and sweet but not too sweet. The matcha was also very good – concentrated flavor where you can actually taste the matcha. Curry pan was also excellent. The filling was seasoned perfectly and didn’t make the bread soggy at all. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their goods! (And the staff was incredibly sweet!!)

Beautiful and delish baked goods. The matcha was also great! It was a lovely dark green, so the second I saw it I knew it would be good. Note: there aren’t any tables inside, so it’s def more a grab and go place

This place is truly incredible. The staff is so warm, kind and helpful. They share their process of how they get their wheat and matcha. They’ll answer any questions you have. The food is perfection, such an amazing way to start the day. Perfectly balanced and not too sweet, rich in flavor. They made the best matcha latte I’ve ever had. You should move this to the top of your list to try next. You won’t regret it. So happy to have this place in the neighborhood.

The service and the products are great. The matcha latte, even though it is on the pricier side, it tasted very delicious. The baked goods were also great. The only product I did not enjoy that much is their matcha donut. The matcha flavor is veeery subtle.

Delicious little bakery. Worth a stop! I especially loved the curry pan and custard pan, but you can’t go wrong with any of their baked goods. I ate the bun before getting home. The matcha was also great, but a bit pricy!
Note – there’s minimal seating within the shop.

Cute, tiny niche of Japanese baked goods and small array of drinks. It can get crowded, came here when they opened up for the day. There’s no available parking lot, but street parking was manageable. Decor is neat, kinda felt like a bar. This place is pretty solid. The matcha drink was vibrant green, not bitter, which was nice. The pastries were alright.
