In 2011, when they were both teenagers, brothers Jas and Suki Kullar opened Rasoi Indian Kitchen in Pontlliw on the site of an old pub. From the start, they decided they wanted to provide Swansea with something different, authentic but modern Indian food with a twist. The brothers drew inspiration from tried and tested old family recipes passed down through the generations but wanted to add a modern palette and flavours. With fond memories from summers spent in Punjab while growing up, visiting family members and experiencing all of the many different flavours, smells and electric atmosphere of the street markets and wanting to incorporate the same excited buzz; the vision and direction of their restaurant started to come to life.
Plush fabrics and Indian artefacts adorn this sleek restaurant for a modern take on classic curries.

Service is pretty bad, you have to play hunt to waiter to actually order a drink – they are definitely not proactive.
Takes an age to get your food order in, but the kitchen turns it around really quickly which is nice.
Don’t expect your table to be cleared after you’ve eaten, one or two things will be cleared if you are lucky.
For context visit was midweek and the restaurant had about 3 or 4 tables in use.
Rasoi isn’t just another Indian restaurant — it’s one of Wales’ most celebrated dining spots. A stunning, modern venue with flawless service, and food that proves exactly why they’ve collected so many awards. Every dish we tried was fantastic.

As a mum of a newborn baby (9 days) we called to see if they were busy and if possible to have a table out of the way due to feeding our baby myself.
Upon arrival the kind waiter walked us around the restaurant to see what table I would be more comfortable on, even offering us the private area.
That set the tone for the rest of the evening, great food (although do feel portion sizes are on the small side).
Great service and will definitely return.
We ordered from here a couple of evenings ago, phoned up to make an order where the lady said if you order online you get 20% off, great! The website was so buggy it took nearly 20 minutes to order the food to start with…
We turned up for collection – collection time was 6.30, we arrived at 6.15. we did not leave the building with our food until gone 7pm.
In total, from ordering to receiving food it was almost 2 hours. I have never, ever sat in a car as long waiting for food… I’d like to say it was a one off… But every time I collect food from here I need to pack an overnight bag…
