First time here and it was a great experience. Elle took wonderful care of us tonight. We decided on the chef’s tasting menu and went for the wine pairing. It was such a fun night. Best oysters I’ve ever had. So many unique dishes and flavors. Well worth the price. Also loved the retro music they played. Great 70’s classics. Lastly, we walked thru the restaurant before we left and it’s so beautiful, and very well done.

Make the plans to come here for dinner if you’re able to. I went to celebrate my birthday alone and had the most wonderful experience. Every moment feels curated and the menu is ambitious but executes well. It seems like the kind of place that many come to for a special occasion and rightfully so. The style of cooking feels genuine yet elevated. I wouldn’t sleep on the coconut sorbet, exemplary of what you can do when you have an understanding of balance in textures and flavors.

Wife and I drove up from Jacksonville to celebrate our first wedding anniversary in Savannah. It was difficult to pick a restaurant to have dinner at, because there’s so many great choices in Savannah, but seeing that the minds behind Common Thread were recently semifinalists for Best Chef SE through the James Beard Awards, it ended up being my choice. I’m absolutely glad I picked it.

Walking in, we were greeted with smiles. The house/restaurant was stunning. It was quirky but still had its charm. We were escorted to our table, which was an odd little table halfway up the stairs, away from everyone. We were told that table was meant of anniversaries/intimate events. It felt awkward at first but it ended up being fun people watching and listening in to conversations as people walked by.

Colton was our server. He was great. Extremely knowledgeable. He walked us through the menu, offered great suggestions on food and wine, did a proper wine service, and even properly pronounced the region in which the wine was from. Colton definitely made us feel special and gave us an incredible experience.

I’ll definitely give it to Common Thread. The knowledge in which every staff member presented was incredible. As every person dropped off an item at the table, they accurately described the dish in detail before they walked away. I’ve been in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years; serving, bartending, and managing numerous different types of restaurants, from casual to fine dining. I’ve opened up a few restaurants and have been a trainer as well. Common Thread is operating at a high level in terms of the staff’s ability.

The food: incredible. We started with one of each oyster, and it was insane how much flavor was packed in them. Our first course was also accompanied with the hand roll and the apple beet salad. The hand roll was fantastic. The beet salad felt like it needed some sort of acid/citrus with it, but still had great flavor.

Course two was the mushroom cannelloni and the orecchiette. Both were phenomenal. My wife was obsessed with the cannelloni, the butternut squash puree was a perfect accompaniment. The pesto/parmesan foam on the orecchiette was an excellent touch.

Course three we went against Colton’s suggestion for the pork chop (almost got both, we were stuffed), and got the Ribeye. Great char, cooked perfectly. The peppercorn jus was an excellent topper for it.

For dessert, we opted for the sticky toffee pudding. Although it wasn’t sticky, the ginger pairing with it was an excellent touch.

This is one of the best experiences we’ve ever had at a restaurant. This will be a staple for us whenever we’re back in Savannah and will definitely be asking for Colton again. He is the kind of server I’d like to have at my restaurant. Props to Common Thread, props to Colton.

We travel often for both work and pleasure, so we dine out frequently and experience many cuisines. This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had—exceptional without any unnecessary pomp or pretense.

From the first bite, it was clear the culinary team is both talented and thoughtful, creating perfectly balanced flavors. Everything was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. The service was spot-on: attentive when needed, never overbearing, and it enhanced the meal without making the experience about the server. The Carolina Gold Rice is a must try. Oysters are fresh and the Pork Belly entree was beyond amazing. If you enjoy vintage crafted cocktails, they mix a perfect Pimm’s Cup.

We’ve already highly recommended Common Thread and can’t wait to dine here again on our next visit to Savannah. We may also make a trip back to Savannah just to dine at Common Thread again. Its that good!

Probably one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a while!! The service was impeccable (Chris was our server) and the tuna was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The chicken was so good and tender. Sticky toffee pudding was amazing. My husband and I agreed that we would easily come back next time we’re in Savannah. 10/10.

We enjoyed a great dinner here. The food was fantastic. Our server AJ was sweet and very helpful. I highly recommend the chicken entree, pork dish, squash side, and the s’more’s dessert. We tried a bit of everything and nothing disappointed.

One of the FINEST upscale Restaurant that I have visited. Hands down an incredible and a memorable experience.

Me and my wife took a trip to Savannah to celebrate our 1st year anniversary & baby moon. we visited this restaurant on November 18th, 2025.

As soon as we entered we were greeted and since it I had a reservation already for our anniversary dinner. We were seated at a very private place of this heritage restaurant. We loved it. The ambiance and atmosphere were very soothing and relaxing.

Service was just exceptional, our server SOPHIA went above and beyond to make our dinner experience top notch.

To start we had some drinks which was out of the world. For appetiser we were recommended for a Fall Squash I must say the sauce and the dish was mouth watering. For mains I had Sweet potato and my wife had gnocchi, what do I say every bite that I took could say it was cooked to perfection and it was just mind boggling. Finally, for desserts we had their home made Apple crisp and it was just amazing and the best part is it wasn’t too sugary or sweet. It just had perfect amount of sweetness.

Overall, I really recommend this place and thank you guys for making our 1st year anniversary so memorable and me being a vegetarian and having so much of dietary restrictions, you guys made it work and huge shout out to the chef, service team and the whole management. I’ll surely visit again !!! I can’t stop thinking about the food.

10/10

COMMON THREAD prepares seasonal dishes with local produce. We enjoyed the tasting menu comprised of nine very good, imaginative selections. We particularly liked the Carolina Gold Rice with a corn and scallion relish and the Brunswick Shrimp with a heirloom pea succotash. The Hangar Steak with a red wine jus was tender and well-seasoned (smoked chili and aioli). The entire meal was outstanding. Our friendly server Christine took time to answer our questions about exotic terms on the menu like huancaina and furikake.

The food was incredible – I was in awe of some of the flavours!
I did the chefs tasting menu with wine pairing – food was delicious and the wine pairing perfect.
My one feedback to the chef would be that the portions don’t need to be so big as you get multiple courses per course! I was so full by course 3 and despite loving all the amazing food, struggled to enjoy course 3 and 4 as much as I was so full.
