I officially found my new favorite spot in Rochester!! The wine choices are excellent, atmosphere was wonderful, and the food is to die for! It’s a small space but the host staff are so attentive and make sure you get on their waitlist easily. It’s definitely worth the small wait if there is one! Pro tip: get the caviar & waffles!! We cannot wait to be back.

Carmella’s. Where do I even begin? This place is absolutely beautiful. I came here with friends after work, expecting a cute little spot for drinks, but what I walked into was so much more, it’s now officially my favorite wine bar in Rochester. I’ve never seen or experienced a place in Rochester so vibrant, flourishing, and full of life.The atmosphere is stunning, but what truly impressed me was the service. Every staff member was knowledgeable, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. Their hospitality and attentiveness elevated the entire experience. Between the gorgeous ambiance, delicious food, and amazing vibes, Carmella’s has completely won me over. And, if I may be so bold- let’s just say my waiter was quite easy on the eyes. Sorry not sorry. Overall, phenomenal job. This spot has instantly become my go-to, and I wish nothing but continued success for Carmella’s.

The wines and martinis make this spot worth a visit, and the meatballs, Sicilian olives, and whipped feta don’t disappoint. But a word of caution — the $85 charcuterie board was unexpectedly steep, especially when they only four pieces of bread and extra charges for gluten-free crackers and extra charge additional slices of bread. Also the mortadella slider was 1 small one for $9, sadly not a shareable item. We paid $130/person without tip!

My friend and I had a great night at Carmella’s. It was busy but we enjoyed a glass of wine while we waited for a table. The owner came by and made sure we (and the couple next to us) were taken care of while hanging by the bar. He also stopped by and checked in after we were seated which I appreciated. We had the Sicilian olives and whipped feta and burrata and both were delicious. The hostess and our server were also friendly. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back soon!

Great wine in an atmosphere that feels both relaxed but sophisticated. Joseph brings a calm, confident vibe to the table that can’t be taught and his hospitality is something rarely seen in the Rochester area. With wine bars becoming somewhat of a dime-a-dozen the last few years, this is the one to rise to the top. Excited to see the levels they can reach in the coming years.
