I ordered Uber delivery from this place and didn’t have to wait long — I could see the driver left pretty quickly after arriving.

I ordered the rice with meat (don’t remember the exact name), a milkshake, a small salad, and a dessert called Areeka (or something like that). The dessert was very unique in flavor — unusual in a good way. I really liked it. It was $13.

The main dish was decent — I’d personally give it a 3/5, but I have high standards, so that’s still okay.

What I didn’t understand was the $10 price for a banana milkshake. That feels clearly overpriced — a gallon of milk is about $2, bananas are like $1–2 a bunch, plus a cup and a basic straw. I only ordered it because I really wanted one at the moment — otherwise I probably wouldn’t.

The salad was good — it looked fresh and smelled fresh.

Out of everything, I’d mainly recommend the dessert I mentioned above. The rest really depends on personal taste.

One more thing: the portions are filling. They give two big lavash breads, and they’re really tasty — almost like they were grilled. Super good. Honestly, this was easily enough food for at least two meals.

Overall, I recommend it.

My experience at Queen of Sheba was disappointing overall. The food was mediocre and nothing stood out as enjoyable. The service was practically nonexistent. The lady at the reception was physically present but mentally absent—unhelpful and disengaged throughout the interaction.

When asked about the soup, she incorrectly described it as meat broth, when it was clearly a lentil and vegetable soup, showing a lack of basic knowledge of the menu. The plates provided were quarter-sized plates, typically used for discarding food, which was off-putting.

To make matters worse, the wings and fries were literally oozing oil. The oil was so excessive that we had to return the dish. I even squeezed the fries and oil came out, which I showed to the lady at the front. Her reaction and expressions were irritating rather than apologetic. They obviously didn’t charge us for that item, but the situation itself was unacceptable.

There was no water on the table, and when I asked for it, I was told they don’t usually provide water because the tables are empty—an explanation that made no sense. The entire conversation felt pointless and left me extremely irritated.

Overall, it was a horrible experience, and this place is an absolute no for me. I would not recommend it.

Food was good. We tried tandoori bread, falafel, chicken and fish. We didn’t find the fish dish very flavorful but others dishes are good. The Yemeni coffee with milk is very good and must try.

This place is so good I’ve been twice in the past two weeks I’ve been in town. My pictures are terrible because I start eating as soon as it gets to the table, everything is so appetizing.

Silkiest hummus I’ve ever had. I’ve never had anything here I didn’t like.

Very disappointed this time. I’ve been here more than 10 times and usually enjoy the food, but today around 11:30 AM the grilled chicken was overcooked and very dark, almost burnt. It was hard to eat and not the quality I expected from this place.

Review: Queen of Sheba Imperial Restaurant – Summer Avenue, Memphis | Rating: 3.5/5.0

Today, I visited Queen of Sheba Imperial Restaurant located on Summer Avenue. I ordered their bread with hummus and the grilled full chicken, which was served with rice and a side of chutney.

️ Food Experience:
The bread was fresh, authentic, and had a great texture — definitely a highlight of the meal.
The hummus was flavorful and paired well with the bread.
The grilled chicken was healthy and well-cooked, though it could have used a bit more seasoning to enhance the flavor.
The rice complemented the chicken nicely and added a good balance to the dish.
The chutney, however, lacked flavor and seemed to have lost its intended taste — not sure if it was a one-off issue.
I’ve also tried the location in Germantown, which I personally found to be better in terms of flavor and overall experience. I’m not sure if both locations are owned by the same management, but there’s a noticeable difference.

️ Ambience:
The dine-in atmosphere at the Summer Avenue location could use some improvement. It didn’t quite match the quality of the food or the expectations for a comfortable dining experience.

Final Thoughts:
Overall, it was a decent experience. The food had some strong points, especially the bread and hummus, but there’s room for improvement in seasoning and ambiance. I’ll definitely return to try other items on the menu and will update my review accordingly.

Authenticity at its peak. Fresh bread that you can’t find anywhere, hummus is like butter, food is so delicious. You have to dine in and eat fresh and enjoy the authenticity

Went here for dinner last night. My husband was given my sprite. It was so devoid of carbonation we thought we received 2 waters. I orders a lamb and rice dish. He ordered a shrimp stew. And we ordered an appetizer platter that never came. My food was great. His shrimp was so bad he asked to go to whataburger afterwards. The service was terrible. When we brought up the lack of an appetizer to the waitress. She barely noticed. Ill stick to the rivers and the lakes that I am used to next time, i.e. Ali Babas.

Delicious food! The young lady waitress is very efficient, smart, and nice. We dine here about 1 or 2 times a month & the quality is consistently good. Love their half chicken with saffron rice and the spiced tea.

My recent visit to Queen of Sheba was a delightful experience, and it all started with my son’s insistence on dining in. As we approached the establishment, initially, we couldn’t locate the entrance. A friendly young lady noticed our confusion and warmly greeted us, guiding us inside. Her kindness extended throughout our visit, particularly in her interactions with my son, which added a personal touch to our meal.
Upon being seated, we placed our order, and the service continued to impress. When our food arrived, it was nothing short of spectacular. The dishes were fresh, bursting with flavor, and the enticing aroma elevated the entire dining experience. Queen of Sheba truly excels in both hospitality and culinary excellence.
