Reviews
I ordered the rice with meat (don’t remember the exact name), a milkshake, a small salad, and a dessert called Areeka (or something like that). The dessert was very unique in flavor — unusual in a good way. I really liked it. It was $13.
The main dish was decent — I’d personally give it a 3/5, but I have high standards, so that’s still okay.
What I didn’t understand was the $10 price for a banana milkshake. That feels clearly overpriced — a gallon of milk is about $2, bananas are like $1–2 a bunch, plus a cup and a basic straw. I only ordered it because I really wanted one at the moment — otherwise I probably wouldn’t.
The salad was good — it looked fresh and smelled fresh.
Out of everything, I’d mainly recommend the dessert I mentioned above. The rest really depends on personal taste.
One more thing: the portions are filling. They give two big lavash breads, and they’re really tasty — almost like they were grilled. Super good. Honestly, this was easily enough food for at least two meals.
Overall, I recommend it.
When asked about the soup, she incorrectly described it as meat broth, when it was clearly a lentil and vegetable soup, showing a lack of basic knowledge of the menu. The plates provided were quarter-sized plates, typically used for discarding food, which was off-putting.
To make matters worse, the wings and fries were literally oozing oil. The oil was so excessive that we had to return the dish. I even squeezed the fries and oil came out, which I showed to the lady at the front. Her reaction and expressions were irritating rather than apologetic. They obviously didn’t charge us for that item, but the situation itself was unacceptable.
There was no water on the table, and when I asked for it, I was told they don’t usually provide water because the tables are empty—an explanation that made no sense. The entire conversation felt pointless and left me extremely irritated.
Overall, it was a horrible experience, and this place is an absolute no for me. I would not recommend it.
Silkiest hummus I’ve ever had. I’ve never had anything here I didn’t like.
Today, I visited Queen of Sheba Imperial Restaurant located on Summer Avenue. I ordered their bread with hummus and the grilled full chicken, which was served with rice and a side of chutney.
️ Food Experience:
The bread was fresh, authentic, and had a great texture — definitely a highlight of the meal.
The hummus was flavorful and paired well with the bread.
The grilled chicken was healthy and well-cooked, though it could have used a bit more seasoning to enhance the flavor.
The rice complemented the chicken nicely and added a good balance to the dish.
The chutney, however, lacked flavor and seemed to have lost its intended taste — not sure if it was a one-off issue.
I’ve also tried the location in Germantown, which I personally found to be better in terms of flavor and overall experience. I’m not sure if both locations are owned by the same management, but there’s a noticeable difference.
️ Ambience:
The dine-in atmosphere at the Summer Avenue location could use some improvement. It didn’t quite match the quality of the food or the expectations for a comfortable dining experience.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, it was a decent experience. The food had some strong points, especially the bread and hummus, but there’s room for improvement in seasoning and ambiance. I’ll definitely return to try other items on the menu and will update my review accordingly.
