This no-frills spot features huge portions of Dominican fare, including garlicky rotisserie chicken.

Unless you want cockroaches in your food do not eat here.
A cockaroach literally came out of my mofongo as I went for a bite.
When I called the restaurant the person who answered told me I must have cockroaches at my house. What is crazy is that I am at my JOB eating the food straight out the container.
They literally called me a loca vieja and started cursing me out on the phone. I have been ordering for years!! And to be treated like this is crazy. Terrible customer service. I am literally DISGUSTED

Terrible customer service! We order from here pretty regularly. Such that we eared a $10 discount. This restaurant, however, treats customers who have earned a discount for being repeat customers like garbage. I ordered cuatro golpes & 2 other items & my cuatro golpes was light! Instead of 2 of everything like usual, they sent only 1, (1 egg, 1 piece of salami, 1 longaniza, 1 cheese). When I called to complain the attitude I got was, “The app offers that discount & so that’s how the order comes.” There is no indication ANYWHERE that if you earned a discount for being a regular customer, & you use that discount, that you’ll get a subpar order. Did I mention that the one fried egg I got was over fried? I spoke to the manager who offered no apology & nothing other than to blame it on the app. She didn’t even care if I wrote a bad review. Terrible attitude. I will NEVER order from here again. Terrible customer service is not how you treat repeat customers.

Used to be the spot, but now it’s a total greasy mess. Just paid $5 for two average pastelitos, which is crazy, but the main food was the real disaster. The pepper steak was just ‘okay’ at best, but the Dominican spaghetti was actually disgusting. It had a straight-up metallic taste, like the sauce came out of a cheap tin can and was never even cooked down. I do not recommend this spot for food.

I don’t want to be so honest with what I’m about to say, but they definitely need to change their cooks and waitresses too. Besides the fact that the food tastes awful, the one who served me filled a plate with yucca and BBQ sauce, and I couldn’t even finish it. All my money went down the drain along with the food, and I spent about $70.

My story is very different.. I’ll never forget how excited I was to try this place the day I went in. The woman behind the counter was very dismissive and was probably in a bad mood that day. I asked for what I wanted to purchase in Spanish, as I was currently working on getting better with the language. I figured she’d respond like a normal individual especially after I heard her speaking Spanish when I first walked in. She spoke in a very defensive, unprofessional tone when she responded to me and said, “I Speak English!”, almost yelling. Personally, I don’t eat food from angry people so I calmly walked out and vowed to never step foot in there again. It’s unfortunate that kindness, rational thinking and common courtesy is so hard to find nowadays.

This is a clean and pleasant place to dine with good seating and convenient parking. The rice and beans and beef stew were highlights—the seasoning was modest, and the beef was tender. However, the beans were slightly burnt with a strong smell, and the chicken was overly salty. Service was decent, and the staff were helpful.

You can’t go wrong at Malecon, South Broadway in Yonkers. The food is delicious, offering clients a wide variety of Dominican favorites. If you’d like to stay, there’s plenty of seating to do so.

Stopped by for lunch – our server was extremely sweet! We ordered mofongo de pollo, side of white rice, 2 pastelitos de pollo, morir soñando, limonada, and a Cubano sandwich, plus 2 bottles of water. Bill was $51 (15% gratuity is included) for our party of 3. Food was good, but my sister in law felt the pork in the Cubano was a little dry.

Honestly the last few times the food has not been great. Today I ordered chicken soup for my son and I and the chicken was bloody. There was also so many small pieces of bone we ended up throwing it out.
