For our meal, we ordered a Spicy Shrimp Roll, a Boston Roll, and three hibachi entrees (chicken, steak, and shrimp). The sushi was disappointing. While the presentation was beautiful, the taste was heavy and lacked the fresh, vibrant flavors I expect from good sushi. I barely touched mine because it just didn’t sit right.
As for the hibachi, we chose to sit at a regular table instead of the grill, hoping for a quieter night, but the food missed the mark. My hibachi meal was overly greasy, which made it feel more like takeout than fresh, delicious hibachi. The others at my table enjoyed their meals initially, but later on, they felt uncomfortably full and sluggish, which really dampened the experience.
The service, as usual, was just okay. There’s always been a slight language barrier with the staff, which isn’t a big deal, but it didn’t add much to the experience. The restaurant was also completely empty, so we weren’t rushed, but something about the atmosphere felt lackluster.
The final bill for two sushi rolls, three hibachi meals, two waters, one soda, and a small scoop of ice cream was well over $100. Given the poor quality of the food, the price felt completely unjustified.
Fuji used to be a place I looked forward to visiting, but it’s clear that things have changed. It’s unfortunate because I have great memories of eating here, but I can no longer recommend it. I hope they improve, but for now, I’ll be looking elsewhere for fresh, high-quality sushi and hibachi.
Nice lunch menu with generous portions. Salad was fresh. Miso soup was luke warm and the seaweed was different than I am used to.
All in all, a solid lunch.
Would like to go back for dinner and sit in one of the cool low tables.
Decent vibe.
TV is unnecessary IMHO.
