This historic tavern set in a circa-1789 building offers upscale New England & Continental cuisine.

A memorable and relaxing experience in a truly historic setting. Located in the heart of the Eastern States Exposition grounds, Storrowton Tavern offers classic New England charm inside an 18th-century building with rich colonial-era roots. You can really feel the history as you dine—wood-paneled walls, creaky floors, and antique decor that gives the whole experience a warm, authentic character.
We ordered the Grilled Chicken Alfredo and the Corned Beef Reuben, both of which were well-prepared and satisfying. But the surprise highlight was the Cheeseburger Soup—comforting, hearty, and full of flavor. Highly recommend trying it if it’s on the menu.
Desserts were equally delightful: we tried the raspberry-drizzled layer cake and the massive cream puff with sprinkles and hot fudge. Both were fun finishes to the meal.
Service was friendly and unrushed, and everything from the bread basket to the final bite felt thoughtful and welcoming. A great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a meal in a setting that feels like stepping back in time—without compromising flavor or comfort. We’ll be back!

From initial venue tour to picking up our decor the day after our wedding, the team at Storrowton was professional, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Michele was our main contact and I’m quite certain she could manage a wedding reception in her sleep! The value and location were two of the main reasons we chose Storrowton Carriage House for our ceremony and reception. This venue had so much included in the package price and didn’t nickel and dime us for things like champagne toasts (included in price), linens and table settings (included), and the option to borrow centerpieces. The food was EXCEPTIONAL! We had so many guests share this sentiment with us the day of and immediately after. We wholeheartedly recommend Storrowton Tavern & Carriage House!

Never a dull moment at Christmas time. We had our mother’s 80th birthday recently. Michelle and her staff were so accommodating. The food was amazing

Beautiful spot for and outdoor wedding. Our July wedding was held outside the old Union Meeting House. It was a warm day in the mid 80s. After the ceremony there was a wonderful outdoor set up of snacks with an open bar. We moved inside the Carriage House before the bride and groom returned from their photoshoot. The Carriage House was air-conditioned but not quite cool enough on this 80+ degree day. When we entered the building we found our name tags with our assigned table. The table was adorned with beautiful place where we found a small glass of water. The water was gone in a quick sip and we were never offered another glass for the next two hours. We found we could go to the bar for a refill. I saw the staff bringing out ice water to some tables later on but we still waited a while for our table to receive some. We were all parched so it was gone in an instant. The food arrived and looked amazing but my prime rib was the toughest and fattiest cut of prime rib I ever had. The garlic mashed potatoes were cold and the green beans were hard as if they were picked from the garden and served raw. After dinner there were side tables with dainty desserts. They were delicious. Coffee was help yourself style in a small pot on this side table where they finally installed a jug of water. The wedding was fun and beautiful but the service and main meal could have, and should have been a lot better.

We had a wonderful experience at Storrowton Tavern. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was outstanding and the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The holiday decorations added such a cozy, festive touch that made the visit even more enjoyable.
The carolers were absolutely amazing and truly enhanced the experience. They did a fantastic job, and their beautiful voices added so much holiday cheer to the evening.
Our server, Nico, did an exceptional job. He was always attentive, professional, and handled our large group with ease. Even while managing multiple orders for us on top of attending to other tables he never missed a beat. His organization and positive attitude truly stood out and made our dining experience stress-free and enjoyable.
We couldn’t have asked for better service and look forward to coming back again.

Researched the place and found it intriguing. My server (Joshua) was ok. The hostess (hostesses) were not welcoming. Neither on the way out. Not one thanks for coming, hope you enjoyed, thanks, come again, etc., nothing. Guess I didn’t matter to interrupt their conversation. I’m so use to southern hospitality, maybe it’s different in MA; customer service can’t be taught and retained; it has to be in your DNA to work in hospitality.
Was sat in one area away from all the other patrons. Bad taste. My server didn’t even know the hostess sat me there because he said I wasn’t told you were here. Bad taste. After placing my order, the manner in which I was asked “did I want bread?,” was not warm. I took it the norm is everyone is a local. Bad taste. A nice touch would’ve been to explain a little history being that it wasn’t busy at the time, but no one went above and beyond.
The food was phenomenal. The adult beverage was excellent. Posted will be the Caesar salad with salmon & the Washington Apple.
Be mindful of Uber/Lyft. The alleged local drivers here are not so local. GPS will take you a different location and some Uber drivers are not so competent to find your location or care. So they cancel on you. I gave 1 driver thorough notes. He came drastically close, panicked, and canceled. Guess that’s a MA thing as well.

My bestie and I went for dinner tonight and it was so nice to sit outside while having a drink and eating dinner. Our server, Katie, was beyond helpful and super friendly. We can’t wait for the live music/beer garden event to start in July. Go! Please of free parking.

We eat here maybe 6 times a year and have always been happy. Ate there tonight and I got the special swordfish and it was very fishy tasting and hard. I couldn’t eat it. I told the waitress and she gave me a free dessert. Will be back but will never get swordfish again
