Very cool place. We stopped in for lunch/dinner. Our server was awesome. She was very kind and a cool person. Food was great.
We had tri tip dinner, chicken and waffle and chicken strips. Kids get a sundae. Delicious

My boyfriend and I are from Massachusetts and stayed in Richfield on vacation to the National parks. Black bear is perfect. The hot chocolate was the best I’ve ever had. The pancakes tasted like my mom made them. The atmosphere makes you feel like you walk in and everyone knows your name. We went 3 times for breakfast and once for dinner and each meal was perfection. The parking is behind the building, easy to get to. My inner bear is happy. I couldn’t bear to leave.

I was genuinely impressed with both the food and the service at this restaurant. Our server was kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself was clean, spacious, and welcoming. The portion sizes were generous. I had the BLT, which was delicious, and my husband really enjoyed his chicken fried steak. The kids were happy with their meals too! It was a cozy, satisfying stop during our road trip. A great experience overall!

I ordered the blackened salmon. No gravy. It came with gravy. Husband ordered a pot roast melt and a side of broccoli. They gave him broccoli in place of fries and not as a side. The broccoli on both our plates had rotten spots. So we were served rotten food. Not a good experience today, very disappointed.

Swinging through town on our way to ride the Candy Mountain Express Trail and decided to have dinner here. Fun atmosphere with great service… our waitress was even able to keep my water glass full – which is a challenge- and our food was delicious!! Glad we came early because it was packed and every seat taken by the time we left!

Had dinner there last night. Had the crispy chicken salad and it was superb. Freshly made with great ingredients and when I asked the waitress for extra dressing, she brought me a big bowl of it. It was a superb salad. My only suggestion would be to have the chicken pieces be more chicken less breading because there was more breading than chicken. And I wish I remembered the waitresses name because she was very attentive and came back all throughout my meal to ask if I needed anything and how things were. All in all a great experience with great food. She even packed up my triple berry pie with ice cream to take back to the hotel!

We had a great lunch at Big Bear. The hostess was friendly and seated us immediately. Our waitress was great. She checked on us and made sure we had everything. We had the crispy chicken Cobb salad, the crispy chicken salad wrap and a California burger. All of our food was delicious.

I love Black Bear. Here is what I’ve learned though. The “homemade” sausage wasn’t an upgrade. We did not enjoy it and paid extra for it. The biscuits were dry and not near enough gravy. The pancakes were good, the eggs were good, and the sausage links are better than the upgrade. Our waiter was great. We did find it odd that we had to wait 20-30 minutes for a table when it was not very full at all. I’m assuming staff shortage, but I’d rather be seated. There very little space inside to wait. Still, walked away full without a super ridiculous cost.

Had a wonderful time with family! Our server was wonderful and most of us enjoyed our food. They were kind in accommodating our 9 person party.

awful hot turkey sandwich. mashed potatoes were full of rock hard bits of uncooked potato. server was nice and offered to bring me more… virtually the same. grossly inedible mash with congealed, canned gravy. NOT what I was expecting after reading the history of the restaurant. Who eats this garbage? I asked to at least remove half the charge, but the server said because he brought MORE disgusting mash of the same inedible quality that he could not offer a discount. NEVER going back. Diner food has gone down the toilet!!!
