Yesterday after my son got out of class at Francis Tuttle, we had a couple of hours to burn before we had to go back for an information night, so my mom, son and I came by San Marcos for an early dinner. We definitely made the right choice! My mom and I both got the enchilada dinners with ground beef and chili sauce while my son got the chimichanga dinner with ground beef and sour cream sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious. The complimentary salsa, queso, chips, relish and corn tortillas were all fresh and tasty. We were stuffed when they offered us soapapillas, so we brought those home with us. The staff were very friendly and checked on us throughout dinner. The price was very reasonable for three of us. We will definitely be back in the future!

Order of events:
Friendly staff seated us
Brought us chips, cheese and salsa
My cheese sauce was a weird color and the two main ingredients were separated. Instead of working at combining them, I left it
So many of their menu items were topped with “chili”. Beware, they actually mean chili. I think its an Oklahoma thing maybe
My wife’s tostadas had to be eaten like tacos bc the shells were limp and wet
As far as the servings, they were great.
Our server was great
The freshness of the veggies was top notch

Went today for the first and only time with my fiancé. We will never go back. To start we had chips, queso, salsa, relish and tortillas. The chips were ok. Seems they came from a big bag of store bought. Very hard but edible. The salsa tasted alright. The queso was so dark. Tasted old and pretty sure it came from a can. The tortillas were burned and tasted burned. My fiancé ordered the taco salad and I ordered the flautas with beans and Mexican potatoes. His taco salad was standard but beef was flavorless. The flautas was like taquitos from a box that had been deep fried. Very small and again flavorless! The beans were mush and once again flavorless. The Mexican potatoes were not the typical potatoes I’ve had but tasted like they added Rotel to the potatoes. The best thing on my plate was the guacamole! That actually tasted good and had some consistency! When checking out i asked the cashier if they made their tortillas and was told no, they buy from the store. They just “warm” them up and serve. Worst Mexican restaurant by far that I have been to.

Disappointed. The rice was hard, bordering on crunchy, the beans were runny and the 2 enchiladas were kinda small. This was at lunchtime noon on a weekday. It was really subpar food. 2 days later we ate at Chelinos on NW Expwy and everything was perfect, larger enchiladas, soft and delicious rice and the beans were of regular consistency. 10x better than this San Marcos location. Our server was wonderful and its not her fault the food sucked. Do better, make fresh rice and don’t water down the beans so much. And really, make the enchiladas normal size again. Like Chelinos does.

In the last several years this restaurant has gone downhill. I absolutely love their salsa, however their service over the last year has steadily gotten worse. But when you are served tortillas with mold and all you receive is an I’m sorry it’s time to find a new favorite Mexican restaurant.

We were craving good salsa so we tried San Marcos Mexican restaurant for lunch. Oh my goodness, everything was delicious!
The salsa had such a bright flavor and the chips were fresh. My chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce were so good! Good size portions so my daughter and I both were only able to eat about half of our lunches. The waiter was very nice and helpful too! There was no wait time and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely visit again!

We love this place, stumbled on it by accident as we were heading home from a long day hiking with the kids. Since then this has been our new go to for Mexican food in Oklahoma City. The service is always great and the food is always fantastic!!! At the end of your meal make sure and get the sopapilla they are so good!! My favorite dish is the burrito loco but I haven’t had anything bad it’s all very good!!

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. I thought all places had the same beans and cheese but they are so much better here! They have a mildly distinct flavor. Actually, everything is better here.
The chicken enchiladas and the shredded beef enchiladas are delicious and I love that they have a few peas in the rice. The salsa was fresh and the flour tortillas were thinner which I really liked. The Jose potatoes were really good too, I just need to remember to ask for extra tomatoes on them (only because I love tomatoes!)
Service was quick and friendly. I couldn’t get through calling them but it only took a few minutes to place the order and get it to go and they were kinda busy at the time.
I will definitely be eating here often and can’t wait to try the fajitas and other items.

Service was great. We’ve gone to SM #4 but this was our first time here at #3. We had special requests and we were not disappointed. I wanted ribs to be tender. My husband wanted the lalo beef with shrimp and 2 eggs on top. Both dishes fixed perfectly, generous portions, seasoned right. Server was attentive but not hovering. Their prices have gone up (but who’s haven’t during covid) and their alcohol drinks are expensive but overall we would absolutely return and we Highly Recommend them!

Everything was fine but the food was just average Mexican food. Salsa was fresh but pretty bland and the queso was well different. Price was fair though and the staff and atmosphere was great.
