We got the $75 tasting menu, and it was definitely worth it. My only downside is that even with a reservation, we still had to wait about 15–20 minutes before being seated.

Overall, though, it does live up to the hype. The tasting menu was great—food kept coming out steadily. The mushrooms were excellent, super flavorful. We also tried the rice cake, egg salad and the dumpling (not your usual dumpling, but really good). The fish was very tasty and well-seasoned. The shrimp (#1 on the entrée menu) was outstanding—honestly one of the best shrimp dishes I’ve ever eaten

The lamb curry was very spicy. We tried two types of rice—white and turmeric—and honestly, they were just okay; I’ve had better Thai rice.

For dessert, we had the shaved ice, which was super refreshing after such a spicy meal, and the tiramisu, which was excellent—very well balanced with a subtle chai hint.

Overall, the tasting menu is great value for money, and they also have decent drink options.

First things first- Kalaya is definitely worth the hype. From the variety of authentic flavors to the harmonious balance of each dish, I see why this place received a Michelin nod. We went on a Friday night so had to order from the tasting menu. But I’m glad we did because we wouldn’t have choosen so many different dishes if we ordered al la carte. And despite every other review pretty much pre-ordering dessert for us, we really didn’t know what to expect with the shaved ice (maybe snow cone vibes dressed up in fresh fruit and herbs). What we got was chilled layers of flavors and surprising textures that all came together way better than expected. Overall, the service was great and food was outstanding so we’ll definitely be back again.

The service and food is excellent. The service was delayed due to how busy it was. The food comes out as it is ready and is to share with the table. The base spice level is moderate but can be adjusted to be higher. I unfortunately did not get enough pictures of the venues accessibility. There is a barrier free entrance and can be navigated either by a wheelchair or mobility device. The tables are a little tight when people are seated so this needs to be taken into consideration. My spouse was bumped repeatedly due to staff and patrons miscalculating space. The bathroom has a wheelchair accessible stall but has a narrow entrance due to it opening on the sink and hand dryer. The accessible stall has horizontal grab bars and I think a standard height toilet.

We had an outstanding experience at Kalaya and opted for the tasting menu, what a fantastic decision. Every dish was absolutely delicious, showcasing bold, authentic Southern Thai cuisine with beautifully balanced flavors. The variety and pacing were excellent, and by the end we were beyond full, the portions are incredibly generous.

For a group of 7, the tasting menu was exceptional value for money, offering an impressive range of dishes and an abundance of food. The service truly elevated the experience as well. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and gave excellent recommendations that perfectly complemented the meal.

Celebrated a birthday here ! Food was outstanding so was the service . Not your run of the mill Thai restaurant. Everything was visually delightful and very flavorful. Highly recommend the chicken dumplings ( shaw muang) and the rice cakes (gui chai). The Barramundi curry was a bit too pungent for our taste. The side of cabbage was tasty and the Pork Belly entree was good. For dessert we ordered the coconut pineapple shaved ice and that was
delicious. Parking is definitely a challenge in the area.

Kalaya’s strength are their strong flavors, with many creative dishes featuring something about them that just makes them so good. Accompanied with a beautiful interior makes for a very fun dining experience. The Taste of Kalaya menu is the perfect value to try some cool stuff. The Mussels Golar were fantastic, and one of my favorite mussels preparations to date. The Gaeng Pae was very good and well spiced, and the Branzino was a great move! Sitting in a delicious and spicy broth and in great portion. Finally… the Coconut Pineapple Shaved Ice, unexpectedly one of my favorite desserts I’ve ever had. It’s huge, tons of great bites with the strawberry and the bottom molds into harder ice cream with Tapioca at the bottom. There’s so much to like about this dessert and I would 100% get it again.

We had the $85 tasting menu that consisted of two appetizers, a curry, a main dish, two side dishes and a dessert. Each of the dishes could be selected from the menu individually, but had to be the same for both of us. Total amount of food was huge, but all dishes were so good that it was impossible to stop. We ended up taking the dessert with us and ate it the next day. It was very good too.

The gui chai stands out and is a must order. It’s slightly easier to get a reservation for lunch and the thai iced coffee complements the spice. Highly recommend the gai yaang naa por if you’re looking for a lot of meat, or the prik king jae if you like tofu. The khao soi nua is my absolute favorite but it’s only available for lunch! Overall, intense and memorable flavors paired with a beautiful interior and friendly staff.

Kalaya is an absolute gem. From the moment we walked in, the service was incredible, warm, attentive, and full of genuine smiles. We ordered the whole bronzino fish and the shaw muang dumplings, and honestly, they were the prettiest and most flavorful dishes I’ve ever had. The goat and lamb curry was next level rich, spicy, and bursting with flavor in every bite.

We chose to experience “The Taste of Kalaya,” which included appetizers, entrées, a curry, two side dishes, and a sweet treat for $75 per person. Every course felt like a journey through authentic, vibrant Thai flavors.

Our waiter, Michael, made the entire evening even better. He was fantastic—knowledgeable, patient, and radiated such a good aura. You could tell he truly loves what he does. The entire staff was just as kind and welcoming, creating an atmosphere that felt both elegant and comfortable.

This restaurant will always hold a special place in my heart because my boyfriend asked me to be his girlfriend here, and the staff helped make that moment unforgettable. I’ll never forget their warmth, their smiles, and the magic of that night.

Kalaya isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a full culinary experience. 10/10 recommend.

I honestly did not have a reservation but the hostess was super nice and let us wait in the lounge area for a bit to then get us bar seating. After I had the best bartenders. Alex and Riley truly know the Whole menu!!! They gave us great recommendations and the vibes were vibing! They can hold a conversation well as well as mix amazing cocktails. For dessert I recommend the shaved ice. yum!
