Located just a couple blocks off the interstate easy access in and out. Plenty of parking but not recommended for trailers and big motorhomes.
The service was good and the servers were friendly and efficient. As soon as I was seated, I received the menu, followed by coffee and my order was taken shortly thereafter.
As you could see in the photograph the omelette was pretty big along with the order of hashbrowns and toast.
If I happen to be passing into Spearfish again, I will definitely be stopping at the Millstone

Great little place. Great salad bar. Nobody has those anymore. The food was decent, i would pass on the steak next time for something else but for the most part the food was good. Nothing especially wrong with the steak but it was thin and not cooked well. The service made up for all of it. Lots of young help which is great to see and they did a phenomenal job. Will totally go back when in town.

I felt compelled to write this before our visit tomorrow morning because this diner deserves the credit.
I’ve worked my way up through every position in the restaurant world, and I would be honored to work alongside a team like this.
The food is flawless—I have never had a bad dish here. But beyond the kitchen, the culture here is what stands out. I’ve been reading the reviews (including the “Mama Bear” one), and the owner’s responses are spot on. Instead of the typical “corporate apology,” they actually advocate for their employees.
That kind of support is why this place runs so well. To the team: Thank you for everything you do. See you in the AM!

We were at Sturgis motorcycle rally for a week and started looking for a different place to have breakfast, so we drove all the way to Spearfish and found this great restaurant, the place is clean and neat, service is very good, the food is great, we were so happy we found it. Best breakfast of the week. I highly recommend it

Great place to eat! They offer glutton free bun for burgers. A nice salad bar, tons of homemade desserts. Easy access from the highway. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. They also really seem to enjoy working with each other. Very nice atmosphere. Will be back when we come through again.

Stopped in for breakfast this last Sunday morning. Even with a full crowd, service was fairly prompt w seating, ordering and being served. The food was tasty and portions were very decent as well. We only wish we would have stopped in Saturday morning as well instead of trying another local breakfast spot that was half the size, took twice as long for food and cost almost twice as much. Next year we will spend our money AND breakfast time w Milestone.

We didn’t know what to expect since this was the first time eating here. The salad bar was okay with quite a few selections. My chicken fried steak meal was not the best. The meat had heavy coating and looked overdone. Peas were the vegetable – no idea if we had a choice – but they looked and tasted like they were straight out of the can. I normally love peas but not those that have been sitting in water for the day. The gravy for the meat was not that great. My husband had chicken parm that was absolutely covered in sauce. He said it tasted fine.

He was nearly running around doing things while waiting on customers while the three females did as little as possible. They chatted back and forth while standing around while the guy was everywhere.

The food was great. The waitress was excellent. The cashier was horrible. We explained to her that we ordered off the seniors menu and she said well you were charged off the regular menu and since you ate it, we’re going to charge you for it and I said we pointed to the menu when we ordered her response was we don’t accept pointing. (What if we were deaf?) we will never Go to this restaurant again. After reading alll the 1 star reviews and the “OWNER RESPONSES” it does appear that they treat the locals better than anyone else. Funny thing is we are in Spearfish every Sunday….guess we will stick with the folks at Perkins for friendly staff and management….they always treat us outstandingly. All the rudeness at this restaurant and in the responses from the owner are uncalled for.
