I had the Olive Burger. It was great! They sure do love olive burgers around the parts. If you are not familiar, it’s a ground beef hamburger topped with olive relish and other accoutrements, which vary from restaurant to restaurant. My friend got a really big pretzel. It came served on a hook. Like a banana hook that some people have, but don’t need. He said it was too salty. I do not believe that there can be too much salt on a pretzel.

“Best Chicken Sandwich in Town!”
I stopped by Pete’s Grill & tavern on a whim and left absolutely impressed. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming—perfect for grabbing a drink after work or catching the game with friends. But let’s talk about the real star: the chicken sandwich.
Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned, it’s easily one of the best I’ve had. Served on a toasted pretzel bun with fresh toppings and just the right amount of sauce, it strikes the perfect balance between comfort food and elevated bar fare. The fries were hot and crispy too—no soggy sides here.
My party also got fish and chips…perfect crunch!
Service was fast and friendly, and prices are reasonable for the quality you get. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is worth a stop—especially if you’re craving a killer chicken sandwich.

Hannah is a great server. We love it when we sit at one of her tables. I’m in Pete’s at least once a month. We have a monthly philosophy book club meeting. Even if she isn’t our server, she’ll come over and ask what the book was this month.

A great local bar and grill vibe. Ricardo was a great server and the environment was good, didn’t feel hectic but a good place to have a beer and get some good grub. The beer selection was modest but very well priced. We got their pretzel and it was delicious, way above average. The sauces were middling but the pretzel itself was great. Overall a good place to chat as well, they’re are TVs but not so many that it’s impossible to focus on the people you’re with.

We really enjoyed the food but I’m docking it one star because it took almost an hour to get our food. In their defense we had a part of 12 but we got there right when it opened and they weren’t very busy. While it was a little annoying our food was worth a second visit. I got the southwest salad and the blackened chicken on it was really good. My wife got the nachos and we all enjoyed them. I’ve heard really good things about their sandwiches as well but i decided to be healthier this time.

Went to Pete’s Tavern with my friends today, bathrooms right by the back door, very accessible. Open tables, bar, very friendly environment. Spoke with a women named Cari, who talked to my friends and I about bands and music. Very friendly, made us feel very welcomed 🙂 Love coming here, open late hours, comfortable booths. A little on the expensive side, we did order cheese curds that came with about 20 small ones and were 14$ Was also charged 0.75$ for small cup of sour cream so that was interesting. Otherwise the portions for the meals were large and very good.

Got there at 12:30 PM for a busy Friday lunch today. Have had many menu items here, the burgers being the best. The kitchen staff is predictably slow. The fries come cool and rubbery. Wait staff is … maybe not good at this … On the upscale, the quesadilla and burgers are unusually delicious. Welcome to Dutch country, where everything runs on idiosyncratically strange rules.

Hands down the best burger I’ve ever had. So juicy and cooked to order. Toppings were super fresh too. I had the basic cheeseburger and my husband had the olive burger. Fries were absolutely fantastic too. Service was super fast and friends too. We will definitely return!

On the outside this place looks like every other building. However you step inside and it transforms into what feels like the inside of a large log cabin that someone has then transformed into a bar and dinning room. I loved the atmosphere.
I ordered the Whiskey Tavern Burger ($15.50). This has bacon, haystack onions, Jack Daniels BBQ, and chipotle jack cheese. This burger was phenomenal. Melts in your mouth goodness. I devoured the burger and seriously considered ordering another. This burger has just cracked my Top 3 burgers in Grand Rapids. Perfectly cooked with the perfect toppings. The accompanying fries were good, just nothing special.
The service was good and friendly.
Overall a perfect 5 star review. Would I return? I’ll be back very soon!
