On January 5th around 5:30–6:00 p.m., my parents went into the Hapeville Domino’s to pick up a pizza they had already ordered. They were first told the pizza was not ready and would be another 5 minutes. After waiting 10–12 additional minutes, the employee then asked for the name on the order and reached up to the warming shelf—only to pull down a pizza that had clearly been sitting there the entire time.
To make matters worse, it wasn’t even the correct pizza.
When this was calmly pointed out, rather than fixing the mistake or offering a reasonable solution, the employee was completely unbothered and dismissive. She stated that the only option was for my parents to place an entirely new order online. This is not a reasonable expectation for elderly customers who had already completed the ordering process and provided payment information.
Despite my mother having given her credit card information during the original order, she was then told there was no payment on file, raising serious concerns. At that point, they were told they would have to pay again. No empathy. No solution. No apology.
As a result, my parents—one of whom is paralyzed—spent 30–35 minutes standing, waiting, and going back and forth, only for it to grow dark outside. They intentionally came earlier in the evening to avoid driving in the dark. In the end, they left without any pizza at all because the situation became too frustrating and unsafe.
The lack of professionalism, empathy, accountability, and basic customer service displayed by the front counter employee was unacceptable. Regardless of the dollar amount of the order, time matters—especially for elderly customers. Treating people with respect is not optional.
If this is how Domino’s empowers its staff to handle customers, then there is a serious problem at this location. Management and staff are clearly in need of additional training on customer service, problem-solving, and basic courtesy.
This was a horrible experience, and someone needs to take accountability.
They should close that store. They called a police on a customer that brought a nasty pizza back for a wrong order. The manager just kept ignoring everything. I will never go back to that nasty store
They close the store, and never got my pizza
This is not the first issue I’ve had with this location.
I am still waiting on a refund and proper resolution and expect management to respond and make this right.
