My daughter works for a Michelin star restaurant so we are very lucky to have fine dining experiences. I noticed a few comments about slow service and I can tell you that is not the case at all. We hoped for a slightly slower pace as is customary in fine dining, but I totally understand that you can’t please everyone. Jackie’s service was exceptional and her recommendations beyond the pasta I already knew I wanted, spot on! Mushrooms were delicious and I mixed one in the pasta and had some of the best bites ever! Overall, we had a great dining experience and will be returning.
Thank you 19seventy for providing a legit menu and excellent dining experience in our neighborhood for a fair price.
To begin on a positive note, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated upon arrival, thanks to our reservation. Despite the bustling atmosphere on that Saturday night, the restaurant was beautifully decorated, clean, and easily accessible.
However, the experience took a downturn with service and beverages. Shortly after seating, our waitress approached us, yet we needed to flag her down around 10 minutes later to place our drink orders and inquire about recommendations.
The drinks took an additional 15 minutes to arrive. While the presentation of the lemon drop, apple martini, and another trendy cocktail was visually appealing, the flavors were significantly lacking.
Despite the cocktails being priced over $21 each, their disappointing taste led us to leave them unfinished resulting in about $100 essentially going to waste, indicative of potential inconsistencies in bartending that evening.
Service remained a challenge during our stay. When we wanted to order appetizers, we again had to seek out our waitress’s attention. Choosing the popular meatballs and what I believe was calamari, we found the meatballs bland and the calamari not prepared as requested—it was overly thick and lacked a crispy texture.
As our evening progressed, ordering our dinner meals also required flagging down the waitress, which highlighted the challenge she faced managing her tables on such a busy night.
This constant need for attention, combined with prolonged wait times, left us feeling underserved. The food itself was mediocre, uninspired, and the drinks, frankly, were disappointing.
While the ambiance of 19Seventy provided an attractive setting, it could not compensate for the crucial dining elements of food quality and service efficiency.
Given these experiences, it’s difficult to recommend this location based on the service received and the lack of satisfaction with both food and beverages.
Overall, despite its promising atmosphere, our anticipation fell short, and we hope future improvements might lead to a more fulfilling experience. Although we wont be back.
AMBIANCE – Very nice, but random location. Outside entrance looks more like a club entrance because of their photo backdrop.
FOOD – Pretty good. We actually got 2 orders of the short rib pasta. It not only tasted great, but the tableside presentation and explanation was cherry on top! I got the salmon and although it was good, it felt like something I could find on any other nice restaurant’s menu. The disappointing food item was the creme brulee. The custard broke and was very grainy and lumpy. Such a shame.
It’s a good spot that I recommend when celebrating a nice celebration.
We had the Wagyu meatballs & toast soooo delicious, Calamari DELICIOUS!! Mozzarella Sticks were good. My friend and I had the (TABLE SIDE) SHORT RIB & PAPPARDELLE its for 2.
My husband and a couple others had the Wagyu Ribeye.
Thank you Jackie for making my birthday dinner and first time experience at 19 Seventy a pleasant one. We will be back.
We came to 1970 at 2:00 PM, were given the lunch menu, but were later charged dinner prices because our server, Brandy, claimed we ordered after 3:00 (we didn’t). She also tacked on a $14.99 cake-cutting fee even though we brought and cut our own cake — saying it was because we used their plates and spoons. Throughout the meal she rolled her eyes at guests, acted irritated, and responded to bill questions with “That’s just how it is.”
To top it off, a $130 tip was automatically added for service that was far from deserving.
The manager was amazing — professional, apologetic, and quick to remove the cake-cutting fee. Her assistant was equally wonderful. Sadly, if it weren’t for them, we wouldn’t return based on Brandy’s service alone.
We enjoyed everything about our visit to 19seventy. The dishes were beautifully presented, and tasty . the atmosphere was lively yet relaxing, and the service was top-notch . Great experience!
Must try the cocktails!
