Good food, great decor and atmosphere. I was recommended to go there by a colleague for their happy hour, glad I did. Happy Hour prices were very nice. The food was good and very flavorful. I liked the fish tacos on the happy hour menu. Unfortunately the service definitely needs some improvement but a little bit of patience was worth the visit and meal.

Went in for the Sunday buffet with friends on a reservation and wasn’t disappointed at all! That was one huge buffet and I absolutely couldn’t eat everything as I wanted to haha.. food was delicious and the staff were really nice. They also had musicians playing traditional mexican music onpremises..-I would love to go back again!

First Visit to this place. Host in the phone…not welcoming, cold, uncaring, didn’t even speak…just walked me to a table!
The Patio win the fountain is lovely.
Service is hit or miss. Food—depends on what you choose…chips & salsa is good (they have an extremely spicy salsa you can request). I mistakenly ordered the Beef Taquitos—very dry, tortilla wasn’t cooked in center, dry, bland tasting dish. But the Guacamole is amazing—highly recommend.
Give it a try—just be sure what you order. Parking seems plentiful—hard to figure out where to enter…no parking by entrance…it’s in the back, but easily walk around.

I met a friend for lunch and we enjoyed a pleasant meal. I ordered the fish tacos with beans and rice; however, the tacos were quite salty. I did not intend to complain, but our server who was very attentive, noticed I hadn’t finished my meal and kindly asked if everything was okay. I shared my feedback, and although I declined an offer to replace the dish, she graciously removed it from the bill without my knowledge, which I thought was incredibly thoughtful.
Based on the outstanding service alone, I would return and recommend Cocina Del Charro. Sometimes it’s not just about the food, exceptional service can truly make or break a dining experience. I regret that I did not catch her name, but her professionalism did not go unnoticed.

I was there for lunch the day after Thanksgiving with some retired colleagues. Very spacious and clean indoor and outdoor seating. The four of us sat outdoors as it was a beautiful, warm, sunny day. Service was respectful, friendly, and flexible. Good, tasty food. I had a carne asada chimichanga with the standard serving of rice and beans. For a guy who used to have a big appetite, I thought it wasn’t as big a chimichanga as I was expecting. My colleagues made no comments about their food or service, so I assume it was satisfactory. Overall, Cocina Del Charro is a nice restaurant for a meal with friends or family.

The food is pretty decent for the price. Maybe not 100% authentic but not too americanized. Atmosphere is really cool especially the Christmas decorations.
As others have mentioned, the service is usually very slow. They seem to be chronically understaffed. So just plan on this and you’ll be fine.
Overall, would recommend Cocina del Charro.

Huge old fashion style Mexican restaurant. Tons of space and a “full bar.” I love sampling so of course we got the margarita flight. My husband and I shared but they are really small with ice so 2-3 sips and that’s it. They were good though. The chilaquiles could have had more sauce and a bit more flavor but they were good.
Gotta love the chips and salsa! They have a Sunday brunch buffet too!

Food was good but I like the Cocina in Escondido better. The chimichanga was tasty but had too many beans and needed more chicken. The dinner salad was huge ! The pieces were too large. I took the whole salad home and cut it smaller so I could eat it. The site in Escondido just served it differently when I had it there. The server was great!
