Keep It Cute
The service was immaculate. There was a group of us that went for lunch and it didn’t disappoint. I had the steak burger special. Which came with choice of soup and fries for $9.95! It was no small burger either. Well seasoned, juicy patty, accompanied with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions with a pickle on the side. It also came with a small container of coleslaw. They sell just about anything you can think of. Making a choice was hard but I’m glad I picked the steak burger. There were plenty of leftovers. I recommend the burger, patty melt, onion rings, the chocolate chip pancake, and breakfast skillet. Staff were welcoming. Parking is across the street from the building; which is easy to access. Give Gabe’s a try!

Stopped by for lunch during a work trip and had an excellent experience! The restaurant was busy with what looked like a lot of local customers enjoying their food, which was a good sign. I ordered the chicken BLT, which was perfectly portioned and incredibly satisfying. For just $2 more, you can choose a side and enjoy a warm cup of soup. I went with the potato salad and cream of broccoli soup – both were delicious. The service was attentive and really elevated the dining experience. Great value for the quality; highly recommend for anyone in the area!

We were seated immediately. Food came quickly. The waitress checked on us multiple times during our meal. The food came out immediately. We ordered grits, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and pancakes. Everything was good. Simple and fresh.

We stopped by for a quick breakfast while family was in town for the holidays. The staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food fell short my pancakes were swimming in butter, hash browns were greasy and soft, and the espresso came in a disposable cup more like you’d get at your local gas station. The place had a number of people stopping to eat, not sure if this is due to limited nearby, options but frankly, I wouldn’t come back.

My husband and I absolutely LOVE coming here. We mainly come for the fish fry but have been several times for breakfast as well. Everything always comes out hot and fresh. Pro tip, buy a muffin on your way out.

Gabe’s Place is hands down one of the best breakfast spots around. I had the stuffed French toast this morning—cheesecake filling with bananas—and it was absolutely delicious. Every visit, the food is always amazing, and the staff is just as great—friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. My family has been coming here every weekend for the past couple of years, and it never disappoints. If you’re looking for a cozy, family-friendly spot with incredible food, this is it!

Good food. Server was great while serving a large men gathering. Atmosphere was relaxing. Hidden gem.

Lordt. This was the worst. I never ever leave reviews. It was my first time at this place. New to the area and thought I give this place a try. I ordered take out of the country skillet. I asked for my hash brown to be well done and as you can see they’re burnt, dry, and not chewable. Well done does not equate to burnt. The sausage I expected to be cut up or diced into the skillet but instead they sliced the entire sausage once and laid it across the burnt hash brown mixture and scorched the cheese on top. It is also burnt and dry. I have never been more dissatisfied with anything in my life. To add. The guy at the front desk was more engaging with the old yt people that were walking out instead of the patron standing in front of him. There was not a thanks or any verbal communication. Makes me feel we aren’t welcomed in the establishment.
Update: after posting my initial review, looking at the other reviews and not finding a reply to any of them, I decided to call the establishment. I thought hmmm there aren’t that many bad reviews and so depending on how they handle this I’d consider removing my review. I immediately asked to speak to a manger and Marie promptly picked up the phone. I explained to her what I ordered and what I received. She apologized and said the “next time if I’d like my sausage diced then I could ask for it that way”, she also agreed that “well done does not equate to burnt”. I was happy to hear that as I waiting silently on the phone for her to offer some sort of resolve. Nothing! Finally I asked “well how can we resolve this, do I get my money back or the meal made over?”
Maria’s response: “well if you bring it back and once I look at it and if its what you say it is, then yes you’d have a preference. But, we’re closing soon so when are you coming back?”
Me: I’ve also posted the pictures online and so you can also see them there.
Angry Maria: why would you do that without giving me a chance to fix it? It makes new customers think we aren’t willing to fix the problem.
Me: I posted my review after noticing there wasn’t a response to any of the other reviews namely the other review that is much like mine. Which is what prompted this phone call. And depending on how the interaction went, I’d then consider removing my review.
Maria: Sometimes I respond to reviews privately.
Me: No Maria, not responding publicly to a public review, not offering a resolve until the customer asks, and stating that not until you see the food then options are given, makes customers think you aren’t willing to fix the problem.
Also Me: Welp, I guess I’m out of $15.

Great food and atmosphere. Downside was waiting 5 minutes at the counter to pay. Our waitress eventually noticed and helped expedite getting us out of there or we would’ve been there longer.

My 1st @ Gabe’s. I was impressed, delicious food, great service, reasonable prices. Going back Friday for the lake perch. Taking my family there, they are fussy eaters, I know they’ll be impressed too .
