I went in to this location for my first time trying Applebees with my friend and it was definitely not what I was expecting and safe to say me and my friend left very disappointed, we spent a lot of the time laughing in shock. When we had got there it was around 7:20pm and it was fairly full in there I’m assuming for the bar and it was the weekend ofc,..anywho we get a waitress and she had asked what we wanted for beverages and my friend got a water and I got a milkshake as you can see below by first glance it looks fantastic,.. I did wait a while for it to come to the table but usually you wait when you order a milkshake but that’s not what got me,.. my milkshake tasted like it had been sitting out for an odd amount of time it was warm like room temp I drank it ignoring the fact and just assumed there busy and the milkshake was fairly cheap 3.99$ so I ignored my complaint..but then my friend had seen a woman sit down behind us it was our waitress she had been sitting down to clean the table behind us she was there for a while me and my friend were confused,.. as we waited for our food then that waitress had gone to another table and sat down to clean it then got up and sat down at someone else’s table to take there order me and my friend were in disbelief… then finally our food came and it was a different women and she had said “ hi friends” and tossed our appetizer plates at us. We quickly started to dig in and began to realize are plates were all sorts of messed up my plate had preztels, boneless chicken and mozzarella sticks as I had ordered my pretzels were char brown and tasted awful.. my boneless chicken however was super hot and fairly good my mozzarella sticks… tasted as if they were thrown in water and then blow dried they were disgusting. My friend had ordered boneless chicken like me and quesadillas and waffle fries ( I did not take pictures because we were so so disappointed,.. but her quesadillas were cold and full of tamatoes and barely 2 strands of chicken and her boneless chicken was cold which was odd because mine was burning hot and her waffle fries were not bad but overall the food tasted old and reheated. We then saw our waitress finally check back in on us and I had asked for a water which she quickly got and then took our plates because we were over the food which we barely ate.. my water tasted like it came from a hose outside worst restaurant water me or my friend ever had. We decided to end the night with a shared dessert.. just because how can you mess up dessert.. while we waited we looked up the reviews for this location and quickly got disturbed and felt sick hearing others finding bugs in their drinks or having bad service or just overall bad experiences we got nervous about our dessert but it wasn’t awful but I’m assuming our waitress started getting the idea that we didn’t have a good experience and weren’t going to tip because she started being super nice last minute and complimented my friend… definitely wouldn’t recommend this location at all.. ABSOLUTELY APPALLING EXPERIENCE – TEWKSBURY LOCATION
My friend and I went to Applebee’s in Tewksbury around 5–6 PM after calling ahead to check the wait time. We were told it wasn’t busy. When we arrived, there was a small line at the hostess stand, which was completely fine. However, when it was our turn and we politely asked for a booth (since several were visibly open and I have back problems that make wooden chairs uncomfortable), the hostess hesitated and tried to redirect us to a half-booth table. Only after I explained my back issues did she finally accommodate us.
We were seated and ordered waters while looking at the drink menu. We each ordered an alcoholic beverage. I got the Blue Hawaiian Long Island Iced Tea, and my friend ordered the blackberry lemonade vodka drink. They came in large glasses, and we were excited, expecting one drink to be enough to help us relax after a long week of studying. Unfortunately, after finishing them, we felt absolutely no trace of alcohol, as if none had been added at all. My friend even ordered another drink afterward, hoping to feel some effect from the alcohol, but she didn’t even finish it because it tasted like straight juice.
We ordered our meals shortly after receiving our drinks. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries, and my friend ordered the chicken Alfredo (she substituted chicken for shrimp and paid extra for it). We then waited over an HOUR for our food while multiple tables seated after us received their meals before we did. No one checked in to explain the delay.
When our food finally arrived, it was extremely disappointing. My burger bun was stale and hard. The patty was undercooked, and I was never asked what temperature I preferred. The lettuce was pale, soggy, and looked old. Also completely white, not even fresh green. My friend’s Alfredo was worse. The pasta wasn’t al dente; it was undercooked and hard. It was completely unseasoned. The broccoli was thrown in as large, uneven chunks, and the only redeeming part of her dish was the shrimp she paid extra to add.
At that point, we were fed up. We asked to speak to a manager not because of our waiter, who was polite but because the food and drinks were unacceptable. That’s when we met Manager Dave, and the experience went from disappointing to outrageous.
Instead of apologizing, Dave leaned into our booth, invading our personal space. He did not acknowledge the poor food quality or the drink issue. He did not apologize. He simply said he would “do something” about the bill and walked away without explaining what he changed. We later saw on the tablet that the meals were removed, but the drinks remained on the bill.
When we tried to address the drink issue since we didn’t even finish some of them and they seemed to contain no alcohol. Dave returned after we asked to see him a second time and offered an additional $15 off. However, every time we tried to explain our concerns, he cut us off. He repeatedly avoided our table and dismissed us instead of listening.
The final straw was when we asked to speak to him one more time to clarify the bill. When he returned, he laughed in our faces while we were explaining how we felt dismissed and mistreated. He accused us of not wanting to pay at all, which was completely untrue. We were more than willing to pay for what we consumed and to leave a tip for our waiter. We simply did not want to be charged for drinks that were poorly made and partially untouched.
Dave aggressively grabbed the plates off our table and essentially told us to leave.
His behavior was unprofessional, dismissive, and incredibly disrespectful. Not once did he show empathy. Not once did he apologize. Instead, he laughed, invaded our space, and treated us as if we were trying to scam the restaurant.
This was my first experience at Applebee’s, and it completely ruined the night. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable, the food quality was poor, and Manager Dave’s conduct was unacceptable. I would not recommend the Tewksbury location to anyone.
Will not be coming back!

Just a review to comment on the portion size of the bonless wings. This is was $12.99 gets you, was pretty dissapointed.
Otherwise everything was pretty good. Server had a lot of tables, but she was freindly and attentive.

Visited this Applebee’s location on a Sunday, late dinner time, around 8pm. This location stays open till midnight. Our party of 5 had a 20min wait. Our waitress was super nice and courteous, quick to put our orders in. So many choices in the menu! Some of us chose the chicken wings special, which you would keep ordering with different sauces, as many time as you wanted and the BBQ, Parmesan garlic and honey mustard were delicious! The Tex-mex bowl was amazing! After 9pm, appetizers at this location were half off. A lot of young people showed up and the place became crowded.

I took my family here for dinner on a Monday night. We are a small family of 3 with a 2yr old and keep things pretty simple when ordering. We could tell off rip our server just had a really bad attitude and we weren’t going to get the most out of our service. Not a smile or anything to our baby girl to make us feel welcomed. Coming from a previous server, especially one that has worked for Applebees in the past it is frustrating since these are all the things we’re trained on. Anyway, we only got waters to drink and our cups were dirty it took her about 15mins to come back for us to send them back. We ordered as soon as she came back because who knows how long it would take for her to touch back to our table. She decided not to write any of our order down despite the things we were looking to alter with our meal. My burger came out very well done with toppings I requested off. All of our food (aside from our appetizers) came out room temperature. We then proceeded to order dessert so we got the cookie skillet with ice cream + an extra scoop and by the time we got it the ice cream was completely melted into it! To top it off, instead of asking us if we needed any boxes she took the remaining food off of our table and threw it away? Including the barely touched kids meal we were hoping to take home. Overall extremely frustrating and bad experience.

After shopping at Home Depot, we stopped in for a quick hamburger. We were served a drink from the bar with a bug in it. Dave, the manager, took $30 off our bill. While I appreciate his intentions, if a patron is served a bug, their meal should be 100% complimentary. End.Of.Story

It is ok, as expected. The service is really kind and attentive.
My steak was okey-ish. Lava cake was lukewarm, but still yummy. No options for vegetarians, but this is not a problem of this location but Applebee’s in general.
Overall, fine if you are looking for this kind of food.

This is the NEW hot honey glazed chicken and BACON skillet. Where is the bacon? Where is the glaze? This is absolutely insane for a to go order. Ordered a side of onion rings too and only got 5 individual rings. Make sure to not order this for take out if you want nothing to eat and to just waste your money. Thanks Applebees this was beyond disappointing I won’t bother returning here.

Walked in with a party of 12 and ordered food and drinks. Few minutes later management comes over and refuses us service accusing us of drinking before we got there. Couple sitting at the bar was as confused as we were. I get the right to refuse service but they gave us no reason whatsoever other than that we’ve been drinking prior which isn’t true. Do not recommend.
