Fun place to hangout and have a sweet treat. They have a lot of flavors and combinations along with a rotating menu. You order outside at the window and you can either sit outside at the picnic tables in the shade or go inside.
We sat inside, there are lots of booths and tables. It’s clean, bright and the bathrooms are well kept. They even have a little station with cups where you can get water. Family and dog friendly. This will be one of our regular summer hang out spots.

Let’s start with the good- this place is lively and has plenty of parking and also seating options to enjoy the ice cream. The bad – some of the ice cream flavors can be out of sync and therefore not desirable. Choose your flavors wisely. This place is decent and I will recommend it if you are visiting Rapid City,.SD.

Only really get a couple things here. Typically employed by teenagers. Only open certain months of the year (not a complaint, it is a good business move, but feel here or there about it). Lots of times can be pretty busy, has outside ordering and seating (as well as inside). Honestly, people go nuts for this place, and while there’s nothing really wrong with it, I don’t personally see what the hype is. Maybe the variety of flavors? It’s good, though.

Great ice cream shop. Indoor and outdoor seating were available during our visit. There were signs about fresh peaches being in season, and the peach cobbler sundae in a waffle bowl was very good. The Italian ice is a nice non-dairy option, notably better than the standard shush option at other ice cream shops. Also, self serve free water.

You must visit Armadillos! It’s one of the many signs spring is upon us when they open on March 1st. Strawberry Butter is one of our favorites but any flavor is sure to be a hit! They have a huge variety of sundaes and other treats as well. The Peach Cobbler is seasonal but is also a must try when it’s available. They also have a food menu u with a wide variety of options. Great local soft serve. Locally owned and operated. They rotate through homemade flavors. Reasonably priced is always a hit. Sometimes there can be a line but it usually moves quickly.

When you show up to a ice cream shop in the middle of March and the line is half way down the block, you know it’s going to be good.
When we finally arrived at the window we were welcomed with a bright smile and a hello.
My wife ordered the Lauren’s landslide Sunday (chocolate/vanilla twist ice-cream, chocolate dip, carmel, and coookie dough) this Sunday definitely packed the topping and flavor for only $6 the best part had to be the love and passion they put into your order.
I ordered the sweet megs (chocolate ice-cream, peanut butter dip, hot fudge, and marshmallow sauce) such a wonderfully decadent treat, you won’t leave without your sweet tooth satisfied. Definitely worth the wait in line, but if it’s that busy it must be.

Very few ice cream flavors VCS, but lots of different toppings to choose from. The waffle bowl is served in a plastic cup but why? I had Rosie’s Apple Pie sundae which had apples and caramel, the wife had Sandi’s sundae with banana and hot fudge. Lots of ice cream.
