Their digital menu was down and they didn’t have any paper menus when I stopped in. When I asked about prices, they were visibly annoyed letting me know it would be a lot of effort to get it from the system. The ended up making a phone call to another employee.

I ordered a stew chicken and curry shrimp meal. Both were average at best. The chicken pieces were cut so big that it looked like they rushed through preparing it. The rice and peas smelled and tasted off, something between staleness and slightly burned. I didn’t enjoy it. The curry shrimp was for a friend, and she said it was fine.

For what you get compared to the prices, I’d say to take your dollars elsewhere or save your dollars and make it at home. It wasn’t great.

In Went there twice this time. My fish was so hot like a rock. My rice was smushed. It was overcoat way overcooked and undercut the last time I went there prior to that my macaroni and cheese was so soggy, I will never waste my money at that spot again, I’ve worked for Jamaicans. I love Jamaican food. But that spot is the saddest spot and I can’t believe they’re still open.

Oxtail is TOO expensive for yall to be serving it BURNT!!! I am so irritated I only ate the rice and peas. This is why people don’t want to come in the evening because they scrap the bottom of the pot. I spent $30 here including drinks to be disappointed. I gave this location a chance and I truly regret it

Oct 2024:

I enjoyed the meal overall, though it leaned a bit on the greasier side. The plantains were a standout—perfectly cooked and delicious. While the portions are generous, the pricing felt a little steep. The rice could use a bit more seasoning to bring out its flavor, but it was still a satisfying experience.

This place by far has slipped down a hole of messy . Got a Patty they threw cold cheese and coco on a cold patty . I wanted to go back but it wasn’t worth it. Everything is nasty and the ppl rude as ever . Bread dry , cheese half frozen oh and 2 patty with 2 drinks was 26 dollars now that’s another part that piss me off

The food is amazing, the beef and chicken melt in your mouth. The patties are spicy with wonderfully flaky crusts. The cabbage is perfectly cooked with a lovely cruch. The service is very efficient. The venue is average, usually pretty hot in the summer.

The worst place to eat! The woman behind the counter looked so angry with so much attitude and she didn’t tell me that if I switch out a side for Mac and cheese it’s $6 extra!!! Until I got to the register did I find out! By the time I got home that $6 Mac and cheese was soggy with goat curry. Don’t go here, that’s why the place always looks empty, so many other options for Jamaican food with better service and better food than this hell hole!

Grove hall & Randolph location argue with their customers & argue amongst themselves in front of customers. So unprofessional!

This morning I went to the grove hall location to get chicken soup. I paid and something told me to check it before I left. Jamaican chicken soup is usually made with pumpkin but this soup was brown with beans. I’ve NEVER had beens in my chicken soup before. Only in veggie soup. I brought it to the lady’s attention & she quickly got an attitude & told me I need to ask what’s in it next time! I’ve never had to ask before, why now! Due to her NASTY ATTITUDE I then proceed to ask for my money back! They’re in there creating their own recipes and not informing their customers. I work hard for my money & I refuse to pay/support disrespectful businesses. My family & I will no longer be supporting this business until I speak to with the owner.

I know the real deal Jamaican good from the island directly and this is not it. Not enough flavor for the curry chicken. Rice was too steamy overcooked, no flavor, bland, the gravy from the curry was bland too. Chicken seemed steamed. When you try to cook a lot of food, you lose quality. And stop using spices with MSG. Got me bloated all evening and feeling sick.
