Let’s kick it off with the service which was quick, fun staff, but lacked it referring options and recommending menu items. Overall food came out quick and seating on Sunday night happened quickly.
Next the atmosphere that delivered a great outdoor and indoor vibe with multiple garage doors that opening the inside to the outdoor. It was a nice outside and made for a cooler outside seating than inside seating. There is patio seating, indoor seating and bar seating and outdoor walk up bar type options too.
Now onto the main Event the Food! The St Louis Style Ribs were well flavored, good smoke, but not very tender 7/10. The Tri Tip Nachos were huge, solid guacamole, and fresh only issue I had was some of the tri Tip was dry or not tender 9/10. Kids grill cheese very cheesy good 9/10. Overall I think we might try it once more but the meats were lacking in tenderness and quality hopefully just an off night.
Grabbed a hazy ipa beer and a “Smoke on the Watermelon” cocktail (mezcal, triple sec, fresh watermelon juice, house made sweet and sour with tajin rimming the glass) .
For food we went with their St. Louis dry rubbed pork ribs, german potato salad and the Alabama Chicken Sandwich with chimichurri french fries. Food needs more seasoning to kick it up a notch. For example for the fries — just make some garlic fries and provide the chimichurri as a dipping sauce because you barely could taste it. It looked nice but flavor wasn’t there. If ordered again I’d ask for some sauce on the side.
The Alabama Chicken sandwich was good, nice cook, tasty flavors when you eat the chicken by itself. The bread, though tasty, was mellowing out the flavors in there. Maybe if open faced it would be punchier in flavor? I’d order this one again.
The ribs needed to go a little longer as they were chewy in texture. Took some home and will wrap in foil and see how they turn out cooked a little longer. Nice smoke flavor, dry rub was pretty normal.
She showed up shortly afterward and took our order and beer was delivered fairly promptly.
She came back after a bit to inform us they did not have any “half rack” ribs, but could supply 3 ribs if we ordered them with the sampler plate.
So, we ordered the 2 item sampler; ribs and chicken, which both were very good.
After a about another 15 minute gap of no service or follow up, had to go find the waitress, again, only to find: there she is, with another 5-6 staff chowing down – Oh, that’s why there wasn’t any half rack ribs.
Obviously more important for the staff to chow down and tell guests there aren’t any half rack ribs available.
Also, it sounded like a full blown construction site happening with grinding and whirling going on that was unbelievably loud.
This was our first, and last time.
