This bar has an old school feel. It’s not a dive bar, but the prices are like dive bar prices. A pint is like $6-$7 – that’s not bad! So it doesn’t seem like they over charge.
I didn’t try any food.
The bartenders were fast & nice!
We went there for Harmonious Funk, which is an awesome band!
There is a lot of seating inside & also had a patio outside, but the place was packed!
The crowd is a little older (50+) but it was still diverse. I appreciated the laid back, chill vibe!
Parking can be hard as it’s street parking, but there’s a Grocery Outlet a minute away, which probably closes at 8, so you should be able to park there.
I had seen another restaurant not too long ago but with street parking full we passed. This time parking was available so we parked, walked inside and was immediately disappointed. The place was tiny, with only 3 tables, 2 tiny counters with stools, and a brand new counter person who was unable to answer questions of the customer wanting to place an order. Out we went, never to return.
I saw Dawson’s on the corner, so we decided to go there. We walked through the door and immediately spoke with some friendly long time customers. Wendy, the bartender, was friendly, fast and efficient as she raced around taking care of a pretty full establishment.
I ordered a BLT on sourdough with fries. Ray ordered the Reuben with salad and honey mustard dressing. I had water. Ray ordered lemonade, which to me, tasted pretty watered down.
Our meals came out pretty fast. Everything was made to order. The bacon was crispy, not soggy and there were several pieces. The fries were hot and crisp, not soggy. Ray’s Reuben was stuffed with corned beef and sauerkraut. His salad was more than just lettuce.
This is a bar so the music is loud and the bar is dark. The food and service was excellent. They also serve breakfast all day for those who like breakfast at times other than early to late mornings. This is a place worth visiting again.
Family and Friends and the best staff the chicken tenders are probably the best iv have in. Life plus gotta love the loyal patrons lol
A special shoutout to Shayla, the bartender, who made my experience even better. She treated me like I was her number one customer, checking in at just the right moments and making sure I had everything I needed. Her attentiveness and professionalism were impressive.
As for the food, I ordered sausage links, hash browns, two eggs over easy, and white toast. It was cooked to perfection, and I savored every last bite. If you’re looking for a spot with great food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere, Dawson’s Bar and Grill is the place to go. Highly recommended!
