The food was delicious. The behave of the owner made us upset as he was not much welcoming and little rude . But the lady was very polite and sober. For the halal eater, please mention not to add bacon slice in the pommes. As we were not aware of german cuisine, we had to leave fish dish because of the pommes.

I recommend this place as long as you can tolerate the guy’s dry humor and rude attitude. It was hard to tell if he was serious or just joking with you and other customers. If at least I new some Deutsch, I would have able to counter response some of his comments 🙂 The lady was the opposite, very helpful and tried to explain some menu items knowing we did not speak Deutsch. The restaurant decoration was amazing. Felt like you were eating at a restaurant next to the beach. The food was exquisite. We ordered the mushrooms soup and a schnitzel with mushroom cream. Yummy!
Lastly, this place specialized in seafood so try not to order the schnitzel or you will hear the grumpy guy.

The only thing I could think of to improve this place would be nicer napkins. Everything else was just as a good North German fish restaurant should be; the fish was delicious and the „Scholle“ was divine. Even the salad was interesting and very fresh

Cosy family style restaurant. High quality fish. Really nice decorations, particularly liked the napkins.

Original mom-and-dad place with excellent seafood. Strange that it was only half full on a Saturday evening.
Nice fish courses and very good value-for-money.

Fantastic place but not for everyone. They say it quite well in the foreword to the menu, see photo. The food is fine, the wine was very good, and the atmosphere… is kind of special. No unnecessary words, when a quiet ”hrmpf” will do. Dry humour, and expect some (mild) scolding if you happen to break any unwritten rules. We will definitely go back if we find ourselves in Lübeck again!

The food was excellent. We had the Captain’s plate, with a variety of fish and shrimp.
The owner is quite colourfully grumpy. He won’t take nonsense and will tell you as much.
Use common sense when eating here!

We stumbled upon this restaurant while searching for a place that featured local specialties. We were not disappointed with our discovery of Seewolf. The owner was eccentric and colourful. He took his time to explain the origins and history of the local dishes. The food was made to order and with high quality, freshly prepared ingredients. The price was right and our entire experience was truly enjoyable. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Lubeck. You won’t be disappointed.

Went there simply because my sister-in-law and I were hungry, and the restaurants she knew were all closed due to the off-season. The overdecorated outside wasn’t particularly appealing, but we had decided to go for fish, and fish figured prominently on a menu mostly comprised of standard dishes. Both of us were positively surprised! We had chosen the cod plate, the only one with a picture on the menu list, and obviously the cook’s signature dish. Both the fish itself (winter skrei)and its preparation were impeccable, from the potato crust on top to the side salad and the pomegranate accents. Rosi is a seasoned professional cook and host, caring for details like fresh flowers on every table.
Greatly recommended!

Good food, perfect spot, great waitress but the owner is an absolute grump. Required the exact amount of cash for paying the bill and mockingly started counting it out loud. Who does that? Recommended for locals and Germans but not foreigners.
