I found this place in a book about some.of the best burger joints in each state and so happened to be going close to Troy, so wanted to try it out.
I went on a Saturday around 11, sat at the counter and watched the most organized chaos. Things were happening in every direction but it worked well. There was a line of people waiting to take an order (if you sit at a booth, you order in the line) and sitting at the cou ter they will serve you.
It took awhile to get served, but understandable due to how busy they were. I recommend the counter as you can watch everything happening around you and it was neat to see the burgers being cooked on the wet grill.
I kept it simple. A cheeseburger, fries and a coke. Once I ordered my food was up quickly and I was able to enjoy fresh hot fries and a delicious burger.
The price was just right and overall had a great experience.

This place has been here since my childhood. It’s been just as amazing since the first time I ever tried the chocolate shake in the metal cup and continues to be amazing to this day. There’s a reason they’ve been here 91 years and this whole city prays it never goes anywhere. I recommend this to anyone who asks where to eat in Troy

Burger spot whose location is wonderfully trapped in time. It is a cozy place that kept a smile on my face. Make a special trip to enjoy dining here.

I tried the double hamburger with ketchup, mustard and onions. Paired with fries and a chocolate malt. The malt was served in the metal mixing cup and was thick as concrete. It was GREAT! The burger meat was one of the best I have had.

Next time I would like to try their breakfast and pie selection.

Amazing place! I see why it has been around since 1935. Never had a hamburger prepared on a wet grill before! Milkshake was awesome, tasted like fresh strawberries??? Meal for all under $10! No more fast food for me when in Troy, Ohio

Talk about stepping back on time! This place was pretty cool and nostalgic! Brought back some memories as a kid! My cheeseburger was good, but I loved the onion rings! Be sure to grab a strawberries shake!

We loved this cute little “All American” diner that took us back in time and I’m sure you’ll feel the same. You’ve got to check this place out. ‍♂️
When you go in, you get in line to place your order then go grab a booth until they call your name that your order is ready. If you sit at the counter, you place your order from there. When they call your name you go pick up your tray and pay your bill.
Food was delicious! The lemon meringue pie was the best and freshest I’ve ever had! Definitely try it…. you won’t be sorry
Husband ordered a double cheeseburger and chocolate milkshake and I got a hamburger & a Coke. (Next time I’ll get the double cheeseburger). The crinkle-cut fries were great and served HOT!
The servers and cooks work hard and with a smile.

Don’t wait, go now! What a solid restaurant. Staff was on point, and the food was excellent. I got a burger and fries and it was really good. Not too many places like this left, support it!

A hidden gem for sure! I haven’t seen prices like these in forever — my fiance and I left feeling more than satisfied. The fries were okay but I was obsessed with the burger and the strawberry milkshake.

I only wish they were open for dinner!

Local charm at its best. Friendly people, good food at good prices. You can tell that it’s good food when you have the older generation loitering over a cup of coffee and piece of pie! We opted for breakfast since it’s served all day. I still got a very tasty slice of homemade banana cream pie! Don’t miss this little gem!
