Stamna Taverna is a great restaurant for an everyday meal or a big celebration. The interior is decorated well and looks very new and clean. The vibe is warm and family oriented. We went for lunch and split a bunch of appetizers among the 5 of us which was a great way to try lots of dishes. We visited Greece last summer and have found this restaurant to be the closest approximation in terms of flavor and quality. Prices are as expected for NJ and it’s nice that it’s BYOB. Desserts were also lovely – get the baklava if you are a cinnamon lover.

My husband and I brought his mom here for her birthday lunch. The restaurant is clean and welcoming, with a colorful bar. It reminded me of when I was in Greece. When we sat down, we got complimentary bread with olive oil and a small bowl of olives. We started with a chicken-rice lemon soup. The bowl was bigger than expected and the soup was delicious- very lemony. His mom ordered shrimp kebabs and we both ordered chicken slouvaki with lemon potatoes. Excellent food! We got sparkling water that was imported from Greece that was very good. Our waiter was so attentive and accommodating- a very kind, hard-working man. We will be back!

Great spacious place with outdoor seating available, Endri was my server. He was polite, but didn’t hear/remember that I asked for salmon with my salad. There’s parking in the back & they don’t serve alcohol. Nice family friendly restaurant. Good for meetings and conversations. The coffee is good too!

Bustling restaurant where reservations are highly recommended. Service can be kinda slow but worth the wait because the food is very good. Lamb gyro reminded of me of schwarma. Dips are a bit different, baba needed to be more roasted but salmon dip very good though borderline salty. Portions are generous. Parking in back, very kid friendly, and liquor store next door for BYOB though pricey.

Great experience! We really enjoyed just about every part of the restaurant. As you can see we ordered several items. They bring you a crispy bread with olive oil and oregano when you sit down. It was very good and you can tell they use quality oil. We started with the spicy feta dip and the cheese balls. Both we very tasty! Pita comes out hot and almost crispy. For entrées we got the pork gyro platter and the stuffed peppers (& tomato). The platter was very filling and delicious. The server (Joe) recommended the pork. He told us that in Greece pork gyros are more common and lamb is less common. It was interesting so I gave it a try and my God. It was fire! Perfect pieces of salty, crispy pork. I made little gyro sandwiches and loved them! The stuffed pepper was different and good. Again you can tell all the ingredients are fresh and quality. Service was very good, no complaints. Price was it’s a steal. I don’t usually say this, but I would have thought the bill would have been at least $20 dollars more expensive. Also there is parking in the back it appears, I didn’t know this and ended up parking around the corner. Would absolutely recommend you give this place a try, I know we will be back! Overall I give Stamna Taverna a 4.6 out of 5, an NJ must visit!
