The good:
-Briskett was phenomenal. Very moist and didn’t even need sauce, though the “red” sauce was very good with it.
-Mac and cheese was one of the best I have had. My wife kept stealing bites.
-My wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich.
-Cornbread was solid, but slightly dry.
-Very good sized portions.
-Good value.

The bad:
Very short list here-
-My wife commented the macaroni salad was not great. Was a little tangy, and not in a good way.
-While my wife found the pulled pork to be very good, I tried a bite and definitely wasn’t a fan, so you will have to try it for yourself as a tie breaker.

Service was as good as it gets. A young woman and man who were there today were actually friendly and helpful – quite the rarity today to find people that work in a service industry and are this nice and genuine. Very nice job. We are fans. Five stars

This might be the best pulled pork sandwich I’ve had in Cincy. Both sauces (Alabama white and Carolina Gold) were great representations of their style… pork was smoky, juicy, and had crispy edges, and the toasted bun brought it home. Space is tight but they took advantage of the space they have with a good table layout. Staff were super friendly, and the meal was great. I wanted more from the mac n cheese to be honest, but it won’t keep me from coming back here. I’d eat that sandwich every day if my cholesterol allowed it.

Stopped after hitting the golf simulator down at another 9. Highly recommend for a quick lunch spot or if you are trying to show someone about Cincinnati’s various BBQ places.
The pulled pork sandwich was so good that I forgot to put any sauce on it. The golf sauce was a great addition and the white sauce had a nice little bite to it.
The biscuit sandwich was something I’ll be thinking about for a while. Succulent, seasoned, just some of the best meat I’ve ever put in my mouth, no homo.

Was my first time here and will not be my last. Enjoyed with a side of Mac and Cheese and cheddar grits.

Looking forward to trying the briscuit potato and buffalo chicken dip next time I go. Quality of the buns was top notch. The guy at the counter was super personable and gave us great recommendations.

Also don’t forget to get the banana pudding. Wow what a dessert.

We have been here before and had what I would say the best brisket I’ve ever had.. or super duper close to it. Well tonight we put an order in and it’s a hard solid “baked” potato and the small amount of sauce they give did not even cover half of the meat. I am so upset cause ya girl is about to be starting and I’m craving brisket!
I’ll go back earlier in the day and try something else but I’m very sad my brisket was this dry and the potato was hard and I just didn’t get any flavor that I was hoping for!
That being said, the service was amazing and the young girl on the phone was very kind.

Unique location, great food. I wanted just a couple of the meats, no extras, and they hooked me up for a great price. The pork rub was a bit salty, but not a problem for me. If I’m in the area again, I will be back. It’s a great option before a concert at the nearby PNC pavilion.

First time eating at Pig Candy did not disappoint. I had the brisket grilled cheese and my wife had the brisket sandwich and coleslaw. Grilled cheese was nicely cooked with a good portion of brisket and my wife’s brisket sandwich was also excellent, as was the slaw. Super friendly staff in a cool place.
So happy to have you here because the bbq place we used to go to abandoned us and moved to Avondale, the joke was on them I believe. We’ll be back!
UPDATE!
Had the Rueben sandwich today, absolutely incredible sandwich, very generous portion of the most incredible meat ever served!
The mustard sauce was

As someone with celiac, it’s not easy to be able to safely eat at a restaurant. Let alone eat great food and dessert. That is exactly the experience I had dining at Pig Candy BBQ. I was in heaven with the delicious meats, gluten free cornbread, and cheddar grits. Definitely the best bbq my husband and I have ever eaten. They even had gluten free pumpkin cake for dessert. Everything was amazing and I did not have any negative reactions. Thank you Pig Candy BBQ for having such wonderfully delicious, safe food for a dietary need that is often overlooked! Best bbq ever!! Anytime we are in or near Cincinnati, we will be back. I will even look for excuses to come in that direction just to be able to dine in your restaurant.

There are many BBQ restaurants in the Cincinnati area, and Pig Candy BBQ is near the top of my list. Located in the California neighborhood, out by Riverbend Music Center, sits this cozy restaurant that occupies a former jail. All meats are smoked on site and served fresh with a wonderful selection of sides and some fun specialty items like a waffle sandwich or quesadilla.

I think their Bama Turkey sandwich is top of the menu for me. It combines thick-sliced turkey, layered with tomato, onion, and dill pickles, with white sauce on the side ($10). The turkey is really good, and I like having some additional toppings on the sandwich rather than just coleslaw. Sides can be added for $4 and include the pickled onion and peppers, which are awesome.

Another unique item is the Pig Mac Bowl, a bowl of mac and cheese, topped with pulled pork, red sauce, and slaw ($10). This is a full meal in a bowl, and there is no need to add a side to it. It’s a really good option.

The pulled pork sandwich is topped with white and gold sauces plus slaw on the side ($8). Plenty of meat is piled high on the butter toasted bun, and it’s full of smoke plus very tender.

A full kids’ menu is available, plus local craft beer, hard seltzers, wine, and mimosas. It’s a wonderful place to stop before a concert or even for Sunday brunch.
