Artichoke hearts were awesome.
Turkey sandwich was great too.
Chritia, the waiter, made my visit enjoyable and provided a great quick service.
Also, nice location and seating outside.
Dinner or Lunch or cocktails you won’t be disappointed. Charming inside. Casual. Outside seating when nice out.
Lunch today with colleagues…chicken parm sandwich w/ cucumber tomatoe salad – chicken salad w/cranberries wrap with amazing fries- Winter salad with chicken.
All yummy!
Once we finally found a place to park, which was quite a feat, especially with all the snow we just got, we opened the door and were immediately less than enthused. There were no yummy smells of food cooking and it wasn’t nice ‘n warm feeling. We stood at the door for a couple minutes because nobody greeted us, which was pretty uncomfortable and it’s 5° outside.
Anyway, we got seated at a little 4-person wood table by, I think the bartender, and about five minutes later, our waiter came over, who seemed like he was overwhelmed. It did appear he was the only waiter in the place. There were maybe 3 other tables of people who were clearly there to chill and chat, which was cool, but I needed to get my child fed. There’s no kids menu, which was fine because he just had a burger anyway… and there was absolutely nothing special about it, though it did come with green beans 🙂 the menu was a pretty typical American menu with a smorgasbord of options. I for example, got the crispy artichoke hearts from the appetizer menu, which were decent, and a crabcake from the appetizer menu, which was all breadcrumbs. smh My husband got some sort of fish taco thing which he said was just OK.
We ate, but it was definitely nothing to write home about, and no real reason to WANT to go back, especially because there are so many other little restaurants like that around that area. There was nothing stand-out about it.
If you just need a quiet, low-key place to go with a couple of people to grab a bite and chat, it’s good enough.
I enjoyed the daily special – a chicken penne florentine, I was hopeful to try their Glass Mountain Chardonnay though it was not available by-the-glass tonight.
The chicken dish was wonderful. The pasta was impressively tender without being stracotto.
The sauce had just enough of a sharpness to balance the subtle sweet of the spinach and peppers. Overall very happy.
My fiancé had a fish dish with sweet potato fries and sautéed zucchini – “it was good” she says 🙂
I recommend this location to anyone hopeful for a delicious meal and warm ambiance.
Prices are competitive and the food quality held true to their demand.
We’ve been to Roam several times and usually quite satisfied with the experience. Not tonight. We arrived a few minutes prior to our 7pm reservation and the seven of us were seated pretty quickly. Then we sat for 15 minutes before anyone even greeted us. Eventuality we were given tap ice water. Another 15 minutes lapsed before we were able to order drinks and were asked for our appetizer and entree order. Drinks hit the table at the 30 minute mark and the appetizers were another 15 minutes behind them. Dinner arrived at 1:45 into this and it wasn’t great. Served just warm and lacking flavor. The steaks and salmon were way over cooked and never did we get asked if all was okay. The only reason they earned a couple stars was due to the artichoke appetizer and pesto chicken. They were excellent. The martini was perfect and the bar tender was actually pretty friendly.
As I wished them luck after paying our tab and walked out. They knew it was bad. You could actually see it in their faces and less than pleasant attitude. It was very disappointing and we won’t be back.
