We love Tropics. The staff is amazing, drinks are exceptional and the food is excellent!
Best Mai Tai and Kalua Pork Nachos!
Lots of options for beers, drinks and food.
Crazy fun vibe when a sporting event is playing on the many TVs.
We visit Tropics Ale House often on our Big Island vacations.

I got take out. The bar tender was super sweet.
The food was not good. The salsa for our nachos was canned tomatoes. Nothing else. Just canned tomatoes.
The nachos were dried plain chips with a cup of spicy velveta and pulled pork.
The brussel sprouts were also not great. For a handful of reasons. Bad food. Just for reference I had touched the veggies yet. That’s how they came…

One of the more fair priced areas in the area. Food was upscale bar food, decent drink selection although the drinks seemed a little light. Service was fantastic, but definitely feels like just a bar. Would eat here again though.

This is literally the best restaurant in Waikoloa village! Their servers are very friendly! When we walked in, there was not available table and we decided to wait at the bar. The lady even gave my bf beer sample to try when he can’t decide which one to order! This is first time to hear you can try beer sample at a bar in restaurant! She is super friendly, the server who took us to table is super friendly, the guy who takes our order gave us tips about the food is super friendly! Literally the best experience I have ever had! We went back the second day for happy hour ( 2pm-5pm), the service was nice too! Come to this restaurant if you don’t want to spend 80 dollars for 2 pizza in Hilton!

Hidden gem in an area filled with resorts and Airbnbs. The beer is always cold, service great, and the bar food is consistent. Mike and Sweetie have been our bartenders the past couple of times we’ve visited since Covid. There are some healthier options, but we go there for a solid burger, wings, and pizza.

We got there for mid day happy hour. Started with their pork nachos that were a happy hour “special” for $14. They came in a soup bowl. The cheese had a bizarre taste and strange orange color. They wouldn’t have been worth $14 had they been excellent, so they definitely weren’t worth $14 for the quality and portion Tropics serves. We’re not the type to send food back and not pay, but these were worthy of being sent back – although we didn’t do that.

My brother ordered wings and fries. He asked for ranch for his wings and was charged for it. It’s just not typical for a restaurant to serve wings without an option for blue cheese and ranch included. To charge extra is ridiculous.

The burgers were decent. Far from the best, but not edible. However, they only come with a very small portion of fries.

Our waitress was attentive and kept the drinks refilled. Food arrived in a timely manner. Atmosphere is extremely dated.

Overall, our group of 4 wouldn’t return. The good service didn’t make up for the sub par food and the dated atmosphere, especially for the price.

It’s been probably 5 years since we have been here and we used to like it for a sports bar experience when in the Waikoloa area. It’s still that but the food has definately gone downhill.

We had a good friendly server but they were clearly understaffed so the overall service was not great. The had a host who was awesome and helping a lot but still things were slow and particularly attentive.

Two people in our group had the Mahi and said it was bad, very overcooked and bland. Decent marks on the macaroni salad and buffalo cauliflower and the pulled pork.

Cocktail fine, nothing special. Prices in line with expectations for the area.

We came here twice in 10 days. Great option for anyone who is staying at the Waikoloa Resorts and wants a late meal. Staff were so nice. Great drink selection, killer burgers and tacos. We watched the Seahawks/Rams NFCCG here and it was an incredible atmosphere.

We walked over for a neighboring resort and enjoyed our dinner. I would call it upscale bar food, with a local Hawaii flare. The service was great. Talie was amazing! She shared her favorites as well as other options. We got to watch the sunset on Mauna Kea as we ate and it was a very unique way to watch the sunset. Will be coming back to this location our next time here

I wish we found this restaurant sooner! Nice variety of food options and reasonable for the Big Island resort prices. I had a Margarita Pizza and my partner had the Fish/chips which he said were good and we both had 1 draft beer. Quiet at the time, good service. The pizza was good but not like the pizza I get on the mainland, I’m used to less red sauce on the pizza with fresh mozzarella, diced tomatoes and fresh basil but it was still good!
