Doña is a great place to experience quality Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere was pleasant, but getting used to the cafeteria-style service is not something I’ve seen much of. Nevertheless, once I had observed the customs, we eagerly dove into the food, which looked so pleasing. The flavors delivered a top-tier experience. A very nice touch was the vegetarian option for the bowl. Overall, I feel great about the location and service.

Food was super good. I got the nachos with barbacoa. It was very flavourful. Also got a couple margarita “pitchers” for the table to split. That was good as well, but the size of the “pitcher” is not worth the price. The “pitcher” is really just a Mason jar. I was expecting a real pitcher, like you get at a sports bar.
As far as service, food came out fairly quickly. What I was not a fan of was that almost everything was self serve. They only bring you your food. You order/pay at the register (and our cashier wasn’t the friendliest). They hand you your drinks. And find your own seat. They bring you your food. And that’s the end of their service lol. You have to get your own silverware, your own napkins, your own straws, your own salsa, and when your ready to go, you have to get your own to-go boxes. There’s no waitress seeing if you need a refill or anything. We were first time visitors and was expecting a restaurant style of service so it threw us off lol.
Overall though, I would go back and order the nachos again. And the margaritas, just not a “pitcher”.

You haven’t lived until you’ve Doña’d. Just say Doña to anyone in the area and everyone just goes, “oh my gosh, I love that place!!”
Genuinely come to this place all the time and am never disappointed. The nachos are in my dreams at night and so are the passionfruit margaritas. The sopa is also a standby fav for me. Service is almost so quick it’s suspect but I’m a fan because there is never a long wait.
My entire extended family does “Satur-Doña” at least twice a month and it’s become a fun tradition. Family friendly, always good, an Oakland Establishment and must try.

Doña is a bright, welcoming restaurant on Piedmont Avenue with high-quality Mexican-inspired food and a spacious indoor and outdoor setting. The cozy interior and heated patio make it perfect for any occasion—whether you’re with friends, family, or even your dog.
Favorites like the Pollo Asado Bowl, Sopa de Lima, and Cauliflower Tostada stand out for their fresh, bold flavors. The chips & queso are a must! Vegetarian and vegan options are available, and everything is made with care.
Service is fast and easy with counter ordering, and the vibe is casual and friendly. Whether you’re grabbing brunch, dinner, or happy hour drinks, Doña offers a relaxing, tasty experience in a beautiful space.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place after seeing the great reviews and walking by the restaurant a few times. We split a pollo asada burrito and both of us left still hungry. The food came quickly, but the burrito was very middle of the line, not to mention small for the price. There was only beans, meat, and rice in it and there was really no outstanding flavors. We also got the strawberry horchata which had the flavor and consistency of a thin strawberry smoothie. We wanted some chips and salsa but didn’t want to pay an additional $8 for them. We won’t be back, even though the atmosphere and interior of the restaurant was very cool.
Also, it is all self serve. You walk up to the cashier who takes your order and they deliver it, but you have to get your own silverware and bus the table yourself. Not necessarily a downside, but just an fyi as we didn’t realize this and were a bit confused when we walked in.

This spacious casual dinning was just what I needed. The enchiladas with mole sauce was delicious. My husband enjoyed his burrito. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Everything is sort of like a la carte. Which means my enchiladas didn’t come with rice and beans. Which was fine, just wanted to let you all know.

Where do I even start. I LVOE DOÑA. I DoorDash from them at least 5x a week. Also love their sister restaurant Tacubaya, wear their merch and rave about them to all my friends. The ingredients taste so fresh, the seasonal agua frescas make my week and when I dine in, I love the upbeat atmosphere. Great place to stop for a drink after work, or a night out with the girls! So much love for this establishment!!!❤️❤️

It’s a perfect spot to meet up with people at since it has a parking lot and a lot of large tables, can easily seat big parties, and has a large bar. I eat here about once a week and it’s pretty good, solid 4 stars for food. Not really into their burritos, but everything else is pretty good and the key lime pie is outstanding. It’s a solid 4.5 overall but upon writing this they’re at 4.4 so it’s my turn to put in for 5 stars to average it out

I wanted to like this place because the outdoor patio and terrace seemed pretty cute but now after going there, that was the only part I liked. After walking in, there was not anyone to greet us or tell us how the ordering worked – ran into a waitress on her phone. They had run out of menus by the door and people waiting behind in line had to wait to use ours, but it wasn’t crazy packed with people and lots of space to sit inside or out. The food was decent but nothing crazy – also they were out of ceviche. The pre-batched Paloma tasted like it had been made a long time ago and the beer is poured in 1/2 pint, not a full pint. Service is non-existent and you can get better food elsewhere
