First of all I love they’re donuts , however , I don’t know if I’ll ever eat them again. I bought a donut this morning on my way to work. I bit into it tasty, great. However, I noticed there was a hair baked inside this donut now remind you, I have already eaten a little bit of it, as you can see in the photo and as I pulled his hair out of the doughnut that I was about to eat, it, pulled the rest of the hair out of my throat. I then vomited all over my truck. ’cause how disgusting that is, the donut is also hollow, it’s a thin layer of icing and a thin layer of donut all the way around hollow inside. I have a photo of the hair and the doughnut.

It had been quite awhile since we went to Dunford’s. The place was organized with more detailed pricing, new chocolate old fashioned donut flavor, new options for gloves/papers for selecting donuts, and great service.

The only thing I found disappointing was their blueberry streusel bread. I bought it to make french toast, but upon opening it all I could smell was artificial flavors. So I read the back and sure enough, tons of “extras” including stevia. I still made the french toast for the fam who enjoyed it as they insisted on having it. I, on the other hand, took a hard pass. I would prefer buying frozen breads with less “stuff” rather than “fresh” bread made fresh with “extras”.

I can’t go in this particular store anymore, and it’s because of how they treat employees and customers. I used to go each week to get donuts for the jobsite, and I come in a few months ago and hear the manager screaming at the top of her lungs. I’ve seen calmer attitudes from concrete crews, if she did that on a jobsite the whole crew would walk off(And they should do just that). I’m standing there with employees and customer alike, quietly listening to this lady scream about schedules as if it’s the one thing holding the universe together. Nothing about donuts is important enough to be hollering like a gutshot mountain lion.

I should have stopped going right then and there. I decided to preorder a dozen the day before so I could pick them up quickly. TOO BAD! They gave it away, I guess they open at 6am and a lucky stranger happened to want the exact same donut order before I could get it at 8am. But that “lucky stranger” must have shown up and did it TWICE!!! Or maybe that “lucky stranger” happens to fill orders for the day. And I know they screwed it up because a lady from my church said that they forgot to order her valentines cookies.

I stopped going in and I got donuts from Dan’s instead, similar price, better quality, no screaming.

It’s too bad that one person decided how a store should feel. It no longer feels like a fun childhood memory, I don’t even buy them at the gas station anymore! Say goodbye to the chocolate cake donuts for church activities, because they probably FORGOT TO MAKE THEM!!!!! I wish I could get a job here just to quit and leave the mountain lion in a pickle.

I was told about Dunford bakery some time ago and finally was able to get there to see what they have. It was super fun seeing all that they offered from doughnuts to breads. This place was super busy and the doughnuts and cherry turnovers that we bought were fantastic!

The Bavarian cream filled donuts sold at Smith’s are awful. The donut itself is alright but the cream ratio is so sad and the flavor is very artificial. I chose Dunford over Krispy Kreme to support local but I will never repurchase these donuts.

I’ve always loved Dunford, available at grocery stores and most convenience stores. But not many people know that they have their own little donut shop right at their plant. Buy one, or build your own dozen. Always a good selection and, of course, LESS EXPENSIVE. And they have their famous giant pink frosted cookies there, too. Be sure to check out their day olds. They range from $1.99 to $6.99 for the dozen box.

I had to pick up Donuts very early. Luckily, they open at 6 am and have a great selection. The great smells so early was a bonus.
