They have two floors. The second floor there’s a lady that ignores you she’s doesn’t have the greatest customer service I’m not the only one who feels the same way she lets you there either standing or sitting without helping you or taking your order. The top floor always has better customer service gets you in and out can’t complain! Although it’s a small place your always squeezing in with the customers food is very delicious!

I ordered on Door Dash Birria Tacos they sent me meat and shell no toppings no birria dip. I literally had a dry lamb taco and I didnt eat it. I read reviews before trying then wasted my 27 dollars. Very disappointed. Called to try and rectify they kept hanging up in my face. I would advise to go in and get your food so this doesn’t happen to you.

The waiters are prompt, and great with their service.
Now to time to explain the Birria, the most tender and season meat you have ever tasted with not fat just meat followed by the best tasting broth.
The Birria is generally serve with onion and cilantro or what you prefer. The tortilla tostadas complemented the Birria better than regular tortillas in my opinion .
I’ve been to several Birria locations in the Chicagoland area from Little Village, Archer Heights, Pilsen and West Lawn area, but this location hands down is the best.
I will definitely visit this location again, fyi I drove 1hr to this location.

Birrieria Ocotlán never disappoints! The birria is simply incredible—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Each bite is a delight that keeps me coming back for more! Highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic birria! A must go….

Very friendly workers & very fast service. My only problem is that they had no pastor..no biggie but the cachete & labio weren’t very appetizing. I guess it’s the nature of the meats given how gooey and cartilaginous they are lol. The lengua & queso-birria were outstanding though! Prices are a tad on the high side..I tipped for pick up either way.

I have gone here for years. Never disappointed until today 12-17-25. The Birriera and salsa were not the same at all, no flavor at all. Everything was different and not in a good way I think it’s under new management. I don’t see myself returning at all.

A true East Side local place to eat. This place has been here for many years and I hope it continues to stay. On very busy days like Saturday morning or Sunday morning there can be a long line (the line will be out of the restaurant). BIRRIA IS A GREAT HANGOVER CURE! Please do dine in, if you get the birria plates they can refill your plate with consome. The food speaks for itself. The staff is very nice. This place is a real gem and they now accept credit cards.
