Reviews
Now that I got my pizzas and tried this place I want to edit my review. I will still keep the 5 star review, but add some other notes with photos. The owners daughter was such a pleasure tp deal with and so friendly. I enjoyed talking to her while waiting for my pizza. I accidently ordered the tavern style, which was my mistake. She said it’s a new one corporate is trying out. We’ll, it was definitely overcooked, burnt. She said they have to cook it this way to make it crispy. If this is true, this will not go over because when I took it home this pizza was so dry it.tasted like it has no sauce on it. I took pics of how it looked. Some people may like it cooked this much, I’m not a fan of burnt crust. But, my other 2 pizzas were excellent. So, I will come back to this location. Even thiugh it’s kind of far for me, the owner’s daughter, whose name I forgot made it all worth it. Please open a location in Huntley. We need one here.
Bathrooms are locked, key is a pain to open, you have to angle it just right.
We ordered 2 stuffed pizzas (spinach & sausage) and calamari. Pizzas were not up to the standard of the other Giordanos. Flavor was not the same. Ingredients (spinach) was old and they skimped on the cheese. Go to other locations, this one is just bad period all around.
We ordered a large Chicago-style deep-dish pizza and spaghetti with meatballs. The pizza was everything we hoped for—rich, cheesy, and baked to perfection. It had that authentic Chicago flavor that Giordano’s is famous for, and knowing it was halal made it even better. The spaghetti with meatballs was also a hit: hearty portion, flavorful sauce, and the meatballs were tender and well-seasoned. Both dishes left us full and satisfied.
The restaurant itself had a nice, casual vibe, and it’s a good place to relax with family or friends after a long day. The one downside we experienced was the service. You pay before eating (including the tip), which is a little unusual, and after being seated, no one came to check on us during the meal. The food took some time to come out, so it felt slower than expected. While this wasn’t a deal-breaker, it’s something to be aware of.
That said, the fact that Giordano’s has halal-friendly options is a huge plus, especially during a big event like ISNA when so many visitors are looking for places they can enjoy a good meal. The food quality definitely makes up for the slower service, and we’d recommend this location to anyone in town looking for authentic Chicago-style deep-dish pizza with halal options. With just a little improvement on service, this place could be a must-stop every time we’re back in Chicago.
I placed a pickup order today from the Des Plaines location (Order #8252495). The order included a 12” thin crust cheese pizza, garlic parmesan fries, and the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken & Broccoli. The pasta I received had no chicken.
I understand mistakes happen, but when I called the store the options I was given were not reasonable. I was told I could drive back with the meal (a 25-minute drive each way), come back another time, or get the chicken the next time I order something. I was also told a refund wasn’t possible because the order was placed online through your website.
Driving almost an hour round trip for missing chicken isn’t practical, and saying an online order can’t be refunded doesn’t make sense. What surprised me most was the manager’s unprofessional response and lack of willingness to offer a reasonable solution.
I’m just asking for a fair resolution for the missing item.
Thank you.
