Much has changed in McKeesport over the years.
But Tillie’s remains a true iconic place where time seems to have been bottled and preserved perfectly.
In business for over 60 years, it was a place I fondly remembered from my childhood.
I took my Wife and kids to dinner there last night.
Walking into the place was like stepping back in time.
We all ordered the Trio with the exception of my Son who got the Lobster stuffed Cod.
The sauce and bread was exactly as I remembered. I could make a meal out of just that!
The lasagna remains simply nothing less than incredible!! And their Chicken Parm is for me – the absolute BEST made!
Their meat ravioli is also amazing!
Kristy B was our server. The McKeesportese in her voice was a sound of Homecoming for me!
If Italian is what you’re looking for – Tillie’s is THE PLACE for you!

Food was DELICIOUS! But, the prices are different than the online menus. Both my husband and I got the chicken parm. They changed the way it’s served. If you want mushrooms, is an extra charge….of $3.00! Nope! That’s why the food star is a 4 and not a 5.

The zucchini parma was fantastic, plus their Caesar Salad dressing is amazing, with real flavors of lemon , garlic and anchovies. I highly recommend a cannoli to go for dessert , they are handmade – with a fabulous ricotta filling so airy it melts in your mouth !!! Va Bene !! Bellissima

I grew up coming here with my family and now I stop by atleast once a month. I dine in and get take out. My favorite thing on the menu is the veal parmigiana and homemade spaghetti. Everything is always consistent, the staff friendly and the atmosphere makes you want to come back. I highly recommend if you live nearby to add this to your list of places to frequent!

The bar experience was great before getting sat for dinner in this well established authentic Italian restaurant. First time here, even though we have driven past it 1000 times never knew it was there. Definitely an old time Italian eatery. The shaved fried zucchini was the best I have ever had, paper thin, crispy and delicious. The service was a bit slow but they were busy. I had to get the Lasagna, if you’re gonna say you have the best well, I have to see. It was the entire size of the plate, 6”x6” square loaded in sauce it wasn’t very hot, just warm but was good. In my opinion not the best but good. The bread is absolutely delicious! We will go back and try a few other items. My wife had the stuffed Manicotti and her’s was piping hot and delicious she said. We both had plenty to take home for another meal. We also had the wedding soup and that’s was great, hot and the little meatballs tasted like sausage- yummy.

Excellent portion sizes. Could technically take half home if you could manage to stop eating. Very attentive staff even when they are busy. Prompt refills before you even have to ask… but they do to be sure you want a refill. Great fresh bread but I’d prefer the butter to not be cold/ hard.

This was my favorite place for fresh pasta and their lasagna is to die for. But yesterday completely changed my mind. We were there around 1:30 and ordered the Trio. Everything was cold and I mean barely warm at all and the sauce had a slight scorced taste. The waitress really needs to be re-trained as well. I always loved the food here but will definitely not return any time soon.its sad to see a popular place have their food and customer service go downhill.

Great family owned place and a hidden gem. Went here just over a week ago and got the mini spicy meatballs and a pizza with pepperoni and crumbled sausage.
The meatballs were good, definitely tasted, homemade, were not very spicy for me I give them 4.5 out of 5
Pizza was outstanding – I will call this a Pittsburgh style pizza not quite Chicago deep dish and not quite a New York thin. It’s somewhere in between. Crust was light brown on the bottom with a little bit of crunch to it and top was chewy and middle was in-between, if I had to guess tasted like dough was pre-baked. However for my taste, when I had it it was piping hot with plenty of cheese and the right amount of sauce – anyway, you slice it I would enjoy this Pizza, many more times and give it 5 out of 5.
Service was excellent and attentive.
Definitely want to return sometime and try more menu items.

We go here regularly and the food is always fantastic. I usually get the trio. Which is a selection of 3 of 6 dishes. Their lasagna and ravioli are awesome. I love their red sauce. Prices are very reasonable. Full bar, great service.
