We tried the Kickin’ Chicken Sandwich, which we honestly didn’t like at all. The chicken fingers were also much too salty for our taste, and the meat wasn’t very juicy compared to other chicken spots we’ve tried.
The Signature Sandwich was the best option compared to the Kickin’ Sandwich and the chicken fingers, but that doesn’t mean it was great. Taste-wise it was okay, but visually it looked pretty sad and unappealing, which didn’t help the overall impression.
On the positive side, the fries were very good and the Zaxby’s sauce was a highlight.
Overall, it’s an average, middle-of-the-road experience. This place might work for Zaxby’s fans, but for us there are clearly better chicken options out there.
Additionally, the fried pickles portion was extremely small (less than a quarter of what’s typical) and they were burned — mostly just skin and breading, so we couldn’t eat them. We let that go, but once we got home and realized more items were missing, it was too much to overlook.
On top of that, the service experience was disappointing. After waiting for the food, the employee handed the bags through the passenger side window saw only hands no face without greeting us — no “hello” or “thank you.” It seemed he’s over it or we’re an inconvenience. I even said thank you twice to acknowledge him and being appreciative but received no response in return or as customers.
I wanted to bring this to your attention because we were really looking forward to this meal and were disappointed by both the quality and service.
