Our server was very attentive and helpful.
Our main complaint was that there was zero atmosphere in the dining area. No music, nothing. You could hear conversations happening 25 feet away.
Otherwise, it was a great experience and we’ll be back.
We have come over 20 times and left a few pieces of sushi and never got hit with a food waste fee. We ask the waiter and he’s like I don’t know how much to charge for this and he comes back with the manager. On the verbiage it says it MAY be charged. The manager was very aggressive but did wave the fee this time; but tried to make us feel like crap.
Food was cold luke warm at best and they served 6 tables at once. They came with our food all at once and basically throwing the plates at us as
Fast as he could. My 3month old needed to be held so we were shifting plates and I had my toddler so we needed a min to organize and he was huffing the entire time like we were such an inconvenience to him.
The one roll my husband had was cut into 12 pieces instead of 8 like it is labeled on the menu.
The staff used to say good bye or have a good night and did not happen this time.
The only thing I didn’t love was miso soup. We spent about $40that’s including fees.
Other than that, it was just okay, but you don’t expect the highest quality for an all you can eat place. The ingredients seemed fresh, and they didn’t skimp on the fish with the sushi, which was nice. However, many things were either not available or were substituted with Chinese/American ingredients. For example, the tatsutaage was more like Chinese chicken, and came with a side of ketchup instead of plum sauce like the menu said. There was no eel sushi either, which I was really looking forward to after seeing their menu online. Nothing with the word “spicy” in it had any level of heat to it. The spiciest thing I had was black pepper tuna lol. Also, for the individual nigiri sushi, neither of us got the amount we asked for for anything. It was always + or – 2 pieces lol. So it was hard to estimate how much we’d get and we ended up over ordering. But anyway, the fish was at least fresh and they didn’t mess with the fish to rice ratio like other places do to fill you up on rice, so that was nice.
The only thing I didn’t love was the service fee that’s automatically added to the bill, but not a huge issue. If you get a drink, you’re looking at $33 per person with this fee included.
This place has worse Sushi than a Chinese Buffet. The fish is not fresh unless you consider it freshly thawed from the freezer. The texture of the Salmon is mealy showing it had been frozen. If you ask for Sushimi they want to charge you more. If you ask for a substitute on a roll they will charge you more. If you just want tea, that right, fork over more money. The water they serve is tap water and tastes like it is straight out of the pipes.
This place is not for a sushi eater. Unless you are the kind that likes rice and cream cheese. Even then you are better off getting your sushi at a Chinese Buffet.
Even though I live here in Washington, I will drive into Pittsburgh for my sushi fix. I will not be back. I gave it two shots here and was disappointed both times. I bought this place will stay in business. Serving crap Sushi with a bad attitude will get you shut down.
