Excellent wine selection and the daily special was awesome
If you like calamari it is the best appetizer on the menu.
The service didn’t match the warmth or flavor this visit, so the energy felt a bit off. But the food + vibe combo has real potential, so I’m open to trying again because when hospitality + flavor align, this could easily be one of Seattle’s top brunch gems.

Veg ketches was soggy, lab burger was great but bland. French toast was dry. No Seu than and cheese was great
Single handedly the best Crab Quiche I’ve ever had in my life.
The bad: The Beouf Bourguignon had a nice flavor but a weird, offputting texture. The fromage plate seemed like it was pulled directly out of the fridge and so the blue cheese and jam were hard and difficult to spread. The fromage was supposed to come with a baguette did not. The iced tea had a weird flavor. I had put in my reservation that it was our anniversary dinner. There was no mention or any acknowledgement of this during our time at the restaurant.
The ugly: From the moment we were seated until the time we left, we were treated poorly by our waiter. When my wife asked for sweetener for her iced tea, the waiter cut her off and said “the real question is real or artificial?” She said artificial. The waiter brought out a cup with all different packets of sweetener and practically slammed it on the table, as if he was offended. There was no cheese knife for the fromage and the blue cheese was impossible to spread. When we ran low on bread the waiter brought over a loaf and dumped it into the existing bread bowl with no acknowledgment. We watched how he dealt with the other customers in our area, and they all got great treatment and service. He was having pleasant conversations with them, but was barely saying a word to us. To his credit he was watching our table like a hawk and refilled the iced tea several times. We were able to hear the conversations he was having because the sound system wasn’t working; the manager spent half an hour trying to fix that. When the table next to us were considering the fromage plate, the waiter went into great detail about all the different cheeses and options they had, yet when I had ordered he just rattled off some cheese varieties. Again, this was our anniversary dinner and my wife is a huge fan of crème brulee, but we sat there with our finished dinner plates for quite a while, while the waiter tended to everyone else. After he finally acknowledged us and took our dinner plates he asked if we wanted dessert and we said no. He came back with the check and practically tossed it across the table to us. That was the final straw, and rather than waiting for him, we went up to the front desk and paid for our meal there. It was probably the worst service I’ve had in a long time, and it was a missed opportunity to sell us on desserts and some high priced items.
Also $55 for your steak frites is ridiculous. It’s not worth $55 for a 6 oz steak and fries.
What a shame. I had read so many good things about this place. It’s very disappointing. We live out of state, so there won’t be any fixing this.
The café itself has a cozy yet refined vibe, perfect for anything from a casual lunch to a special night out. If you’re looking for a spot in Seattle with consistently delicious food and a great atmosphere, Café Champagne is absolutely worth it
