As a child i remember going to Miguel’s Restaurant in Bar Harbor. They had the best and freshest food. Amazing quality and served with fresh sour cream and cilantro on top af a bowl of delicious black bean soup.
Amazing.

This is not that place.
You arrive and are greated and seated rather quickly as I went mid afternoon.
Waitress we had was amazing and also the reason for the second star in the rating. Chips and salsa compliment the table and the fire roasted salsa was decent. Food is ordered and drinks arrive.
The meal goes downhill the moment food arrives on the table.

As incredibly difficult as it is to not create a proper taco, they have managed to.
Any restaurant that served a taco on a corn tortilla will normally double stack the tortilla and flash it on a grill. This was a sad steamed single taco that fell apart instantly. Next step in a taco should be to add the meat of choice. Asada, carnitas Pollo, customer choice. Their next step was not. They chose the onion bed method with Asada sprinkled on top as if it was a garnish and not the meal. Cilantro was sprinkled or perhaps just swept off a counter with leftover onions on top.
While I may be wrong I’ve never met anyone that orders an onion taco.
Standard rice and beans on the side even lacked flavor. Rice was dry and flavorless. The black beans tasted of beans freshly dumped from a can and heated up without rinsing.
The street corn option was no different. Canned corn dumped without rinse and swirled with generic mayonnaise.
The food was horrible. Will not return.

Started off with stale, unsalted chips. Then had the barely toasted quesadilla. The chicken inside was decent. 3 hard shell beef tacos which were very lightly seasoned, tasted like regular ground beef. And a side of rice and refried beans. Rice was cold but ok and didn’t care for the beans. The waitress was nice.

Went here expecting a decent meal. Was terribly disappointed! Have gone here at least once a year since they opened… everything has steadily declined in quality. The carnitas were cold, fatty and dry. I had ordered the tacos pastor, and it was like eating day old leftovers that were not warmed up. My daughters carnitas were the same. My wife’s chicken chimichanga was tasteless and cold and dry as well. I ate my tacos simply because I was hungry, but wife and daughter barely touched theirs. The street corn, instead of being grilled on the cob tasted like canned corn with very little flavor. The only good part of the meal was the root beer. The server was nice enough and helpful and the manager comped part of the meal, but we did not even bother to take home as leftovers. Even the Spanish rice was dry. The restaurant was also very cold and annoying with the people at the bar being loud. Just a miserable experience altogether.

We have eaten here several times. The food is always delicious, service excellent, and prices, reasonable. We sat in a cozy booth near the bar, nice and comfy. My hubby got the 3 enchilada combo and I ordered Carnitas. We highly recommend the Roasted Poblano Cheese. (queso) And anything with Verde Sauce. Everything was awesome like always. The Fajitas are always a good choice too as we have ordered them on previous visits. This visit I tried one of their specialty cocktails. YUMMMMY lol Try the Strawberry Pineapple Smash! It hit the spot after spending the afternoon protesting at the park! Anyway, we keep coming back and will continue to do so when we are craving some Mexican Food. We have never left disappointed or still hungry, that is for sure.

Have never had a bad meal here, service is usually good and the price is fair as well. The best Mexican food north of Portland

My friend and I just left this restaurant and we had the BEST server. We kept saying every time she left the table how incredible she was!!! Like fully 1000/10 server. Made the best suggestions and made sure we were taken care of! She was so sweet and soft spoken- receipt says her name is Willow!! Food was also delicious! Willow for the WIN!!!

Ordered to go yesterday by phone. We got 2 Cali burritos, which were delicious! The steak in them was awesome in flavor and tenderness. Plus my wife loved the sautéed vegetables on the side!

Order was ready exactly when quoted and was hot and fresh! I paid at the bar, and the group there was enjoying each other’s company and seemed to have a lot of interaction from the bartender which I love to see!

We love coming to Miguel’s whenever we are in Bangor. The food is always good and margaritas taste like proper margaritas. It feels like home whenever we walk in. I don’t get how the other nearby Mexican restaurant gets good reviews. The food there is so incredibly bland. My tastebuds grab the steering wheel of my car and make me turn into the Miguel’s driveway. Jesus would have done the same thing. Thanks Megan, Kyle and Lisa for always taking care of us so well.

My wife and I went here for Taco Tuesday. Price is great ($2 taco chicken or beef). The waitress was great! She checked on us several times, made sure we had drinks and refills, and kept the chips and salsa coming. The tacos had great flavor and came with salsa and sour cream. The fried ice cream is amazing as well. The environment was pleasant, kind of the typical American/Mexican decor. Has a small bar area where people were gathered for after work drinks. I deducted one star for the greeter. We walked in and was greeted by a young man that you could just tell he did not want to be there. He did not smile and instantly acted put out that he had to seat us. That is my only complaint.

Prompt service waitress just took a minute to come back with add ons. Outside of building looked pretty uninviting but inside was a great atmosphere . Will be back!!
