It was Friday night and we are looking for a good place to go that was local, with a good food and beer selection, a fun atmosphere, and and reasonable price. Ram’s Head Tavern delivered on all aspects!

We have been going to this restaurant on and off for a number of years now. We had out-of-town guests and Ram’s Head came to mind.

If you have not been to this restaurant before, it is located in historic Savage Mill among antique stores and small novelty shops. There usually is parking close to the entrance to Ram’s Head, but if not, there are additional spots a bit farther up the street. The restaurant itself spans three floors and offers table-service dining (indoor and outdoor, weather permitting), and a bar scene complete with darts and billiards.

We were given a warm welcome immediately once we entered the restaurant and were then escorted to our table that we had reserved on OpenTable. There are a few pages to the menu offering a great selection of appetizers, sandwiches and burgers, and full-portioned entrees. The service was prompt and friendly as well as helpful (we ask a lot of opinion questions about dishes we haven’t tried).

We ordered the Salmon, Reuben, pulled pork sandwich (see photos), as well as pizza and sliders from the kids menu. before our dinner came out, we started the evening with an order of pickle chips and brats covered with pretzel bread and a couple Fordham beers to wash it down! All of the food came out hot and smelling great! After all of the delicious food, we still had room to split and Maryland-style dessert: Smith Island Cake!

All in all, we had a great experience and look forward to the next time!

Very friendly customer service but didn’t quite wow ya with order accuracy. I ordered the Salad Fresca which was very good. My friend ordered a steak medium well and it came out quite bloody, barely medium rare. They took it back and cooked it some more(which I didn’t think you could take food back to the kitchen once it had touched the table?) but they didn’t bring a knife when they came back with the now well done steak. For dessert, I got the Peanut Butter Pie which was quite yummy and could have easily been shared. He ordered a root beer float but they forgot to bring his glass of root beer with it. All in all, the food I ordered was great and everyone was very pleasant but they didn’t quite get our order accurately. I will say that they comp’d our desserts to make up for it.

Went here for a Sunday girls’ brunch. Brunch menu was great; good selection and big servings. Taking off one star as the service was sub-par. Our server seemed to be easily confused by our orders; he did seem quite young / inexperienced. One of us ordered an omelette with just bacon and cheese–they forgot the cheese. Granted she had already eaten about 1/4 of it when she told our server, but he just basically stood there, dumbfounded. He didn’t offer to have it re-made or offer to bring out some cheese. My meal was really
delicious–the Annapolis Benedict–which had 2 crab cakes served on top of English muffins topped with tomatoes, perfectly poached eggs, Hollandaise Sauce and Old Bay seasoning. All of our meals came with nicely fried potatoes and thinly sliced cantaloupe, honeydew and pineapple. Will definitely come back!

Decent food. Staff was great though. Atmosphere was relaxed. Got a decent amount of TVs. A nice selection of alcohol and beers on tap. Pricey place for some mediocre food.

A really cool restaurant with lots of seating. The prices can be a bit high, but there are a couple things that are normal. The fish and chips wasn’t so good, the salad was fine but I had to add chicken to be sort-of full. The service was really good and quick. Parking can be tricky so plan to get there early.

This spot was good. The prices were low! Spent about $50 on pancakes w/ berries, 4 alcoholic drinks, and french toast – both plates came with a meat. The orchard mojito was tooooooo good. I will say that there wasn’t anything particularly special about how the food tasted, but the I was satisfied to say the least. Live music outside as well. Bugs were buzzing, however

The building and location in general are beautiful, perfect for having dinner outside in a good spring/summer evening.

It was my first time there and when we arrived we were greeted by a nice gentleman and escorted to our table. We then had to wait to what seemed a little longer than usual, it was cool, then a guy stopped by at the table next to us and said he’ll be with us shortly, great! Although he never introduced himself and we didn’t know his name we were glad to get service — We then ordered some drinks and I went for the new drink they were promoting called “Mango cosmo” and… it was terrible, it was an $8 juice with barely any alcohol. Oh well, it was not the fault of the server. When he came back asking if I wanted another one, I just said “no, thanks” but my friend mentioned that it was apparently not strong, he didn’t say anything. Everything still ok-ish.
We ordered our food and it was brought by someone else. We had 2 burgers. We were expecting the usual “how is everything?” After being served so we can request ketchup but that didn’t come until I was done with my food (you can see the photo of me plate) — after that we just noticed that things were a bit off, the place was not busy and our server seemed to be walking around checking on others. He even came to introduce himself to a new group that arrived just next to our table and that seemed like a perfect moment to do a quick check to see if we needed soda refills, which I did. After that just getting the check and get him to take the card took forever that I must admit that by that moment I was not in a good mood anymore.
The food was great, I will admit that but the service was terrible, or we were just unlucky or who knows what.

Food we ordered was pretty good. There was a band playing music which was nice. This area and the building are beautiful and I’ll definitely visit here again 😀

Kate and Erica with a C, not a K because K is evil, were great! My friend got married there and we had our after party, before party, then after party there so those two women dealt with us for the better part of two days. They were engaging, fun, friendly, and fast! Most importantly, Erica took some great pictures of us/me haha

Ram’s Head at Savage Mills has great food and awesome beer! They offer a beer release party on the first Thursday of every month. You get a nifty glass for each release. They also have a unique outdoor seating area that is great this time of year.
