Second visit to the kitchen, and with food this good, there will definitely be more in the future! We visited on a very cold morning, and orders are placed outside on the porch before entering. That’s fine in normal cold weather, but at 22 degrees the overhead heaters just don’t quite cut it. I think this part of the experience could use a little revision.
My wife had pancakes with vanilla syrup and sausage. I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, grits, sausage, and toast. Everything was very flavorful. My only complaint was that my food was lukewarm. It seemed like my food may have been finished and sat for a few minutes while my wife’s pancakes were completed. On a cold morning, I would have preferred a hotter meal, the grits weren’t warm enough to melt the butter, and the toast was cold, so I didn’t even attempt to butter it.
That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I’m willing to let it slide. Everything arrived quickly, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, set in an old home that is very clean.
On our first visit, they offered chocolate chip cookies to go, and they were excellent! They didn’t have any this time, but we’ll be back again to try our luck.
To those about to nosh, I salute you!!

This restaurant is a great place to enjoy some fantastic food in town. If you’re searching for a fresh breakfast, it’s a must-visit destination. We tried the pancake, grits, and the burrito. All I will say is it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere is very unique and cozy. Service was magnificent wish I remembered the lady that took care of us. But overall the entire staff was awesome.

We had a great time with a wonderful service staff of Happy camper Heather, Tiffany (Texas- she kept our coffee full and piping like no other)& Mandy a wonder keeping the line moving and the folks smiling.
The food WOW! The Marvin house vanilla bean syrup was 10/10! Everything was scrumptious.

We arrived on a busy Sunday during the summer and had a little bit of a wait. The wait and ordering process is a little different but seems to work. We are outside on the side porch. If really busy parking can be at a premium but generally there should be enough. The food was good and the flavored tea was great. Just a bit outside walking distance from the center of restaurants in town but worth a stop if you’re in town for a while.

This is one of the best breakfasts we have had. My wife said these were the best pancakes she has ever had. That says a lot, because she is an amazing cook. So if you get a chance, you need to stop by here.

We absolutely loved our visit to Louise’s Kitchen in Black Mountain! I ordered the blueberry waffle with eggs and bacon—so fluffy and full of flavor. My husband had the Big Boy Burrito and it was just as delicious. Every bite tasted homemade and comforting.
But honestly, this place is about so much more than just the food. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, even making sure our puppy was just as taken care of as we were. The atmosphere is unbeatable—it truly feels like sitting on your grandma’s front porch, relaxed and cozy.
One thing to note: it does get busy! While we didn’t have to wait, it wasn’t long before people were lining up for tables. Totally worth it though. This is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again.

We had a great lunch. Excellent food and friendly service. The special mimosas ( we had passion fruit and cranberry/blood orange) were delicious. The Black Mountain Cheesesteak sandwich was yummy, and the fresh fruit side was sliced banana, blueberries, and strawberries. Not the usual dish of underripe melon. We highly recommend Louise’s Kitchen!

Great spot for brunch. Dine indoors or out. Bacon was dynamite, as were biscuits. Good kids menu as well. Excellent mix of people from families to singles to folks who are hungover from last night as well as folks who just left church. I appreciated how diverse their patrons are. They take your order as you walk up, then you find a seat–it was a good way to keep turning tables. I look forward to returning.
