House of Dosa has been my go-to for over a decade, and every visit feels like coming home. The ambiance is rich with culture and tradition, wrapping you in coziness. The owner is super sweet, and the service is always top-notch. Now, the food? Next-level!!! Also love how clean they keep the area at all times (with scents of incense, makes it more traditional ), huge plus for me at a restaurant.

My absolute favorites are the gunpowder uttapam, malgudi dosa, podi dosa and moong dal dosa, each bite packed with authentic flavor, literally soul food for me!! Im already drooling . Pair them with their mouthwatering sambar, chutneys, and rasam, and you’ll be licking your fingers, I promise. Even their chai, idli, and vadas are pure, authentic goodness. The best part? They cook in desi ghee, which elevates everything though they have coconut oil as an option if ghee or other oils don’t suit you. But trust me, go for the ghee, unmatched flavor!! No matter where ever I go in New York for Dosa, I keep coming back to HOD, for obvious reasons^.

This place holds a special place in my heart, and I truly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic South Indian comfort food. Its my soul food for sure ❤️

I absolutely love House of Dosas! Jay and his lovely wife are the kindest people you will ever meet and that kindness shines through in the food that is served here! Wonderful flavors and well cooked Indian food that impresses every time! Every person that I have brought with me to House of Dosas- experienced with Indian cuisine or newbies have all walked away impressed and happy with the food! There is nothing that I haven’t tried yet that I didn’t enjoy! Highly recommend the lunch special if you are new to Indian food as it allows you to sample a bunch of different things! Thank you to the House of Dosas team for always creating a nice experience where you never feel rushed and can relax!

Discovering the flavors of South India in Long Island, NY! This hidden gem serves the most authentic, mouth-watering dosas I’ve had outside of Tamil Nadu. I live in Dubai and have visited many South Indian restaurants around the globe but so far nothing close to House of Dosas.

What sets this place apart isn’t just the incredible taste, but the vast variety of dosas and South Indian dishes, accompanied by rich coffee and an immersive cultural experience. Stepping inside, I felt transported back to the vibrant streets of Tamil Nadu.

The staff’s warm hospitality and prompt service added to the charm. We took their expert recommendations, tailored to our tastes, and were blown away by the flavors.

This restaurant has earned a spot among my top favorites in NY. Kudos to the team for creating a true slice of South India in Long Island!

One of the best dosa spots around! Highly recommend trying their Malgudi Rava Masala Dosa and Chetti Pondicherey Dosa — both are absolutely packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Pair them with their must-try Moru (buttermilk), which is incredibly refreshing and balances the spices so well. Great food, quick service, and authentic taste — a must-visit for any South Indian food lover!

House of Dosas is honestly one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever visited. The food was extremely spicy even after clearly asking for it to be mild. It felt like they completely ignored what I said. The staff was unprofessional, rude, and had no sense of customer service, they talked in a very disrespectful way.
The prices are ridiculously high for what they serve. The portion sizes are tiny, and the taste definitely doesn’t match the cost. I would never go back here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
If you want your stomach to burn like fire and be treated rudely at the same time, then this might be your place. Otherwise, save your money and go somewhere else

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is delightful, and the workers are super friendly. The lychee shake was very refreshing and sweetened well. Got the dosa, mattur pruneer and another curry. I’m knocking it down a star because the dishes were $15+ so I kind of expected the portions to be larger

Great dosas. We had a few specialty dosasa this time. I love masala dosa but decided to try the moong. Very good. We also tried the ragi – excellent. They’re a little more expensive than the other dosa places in the area. But definitely worth it.

This place was so amazing!!! Super authentic, food was so fresh and came out hot and quick. Barely any wait time. We got vada and idly combo for appetizer and for our entree cheese uthappam and butter and garlic dosa. For dessert we had badam halwa which was almondy and the carrot halwa (the carrot was my favorite!) with the madras coffee. Everything was fantastic and not greasy at all. The spice was perfect. The staff was so friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend.
